walzav29
What is the damn story with Warrick's shin. It looks like a lot of us fans underestimated the impact Warrick has on this team. We need him back. I don't get it.
Scottishbengal
my guess is that it's "shin splints" where the shin bone has splintered due to intense or repetitive physical activity.I have no inside knowledge and I haven't heard/read anything, it's just a gut feeling I have. walzav29
I had shin splints in high school. I took 3 advil and had it taped. It has to be fractured or something.
HoosierCat
My gut feeling is that Peter's done. I don't think it's just the shin but also the knee, which by some accounts is basically shot for life. He can still play, but even when he was out there this year you could see he didn't have the same zip. And the team keeps bringing in guys who look a lot like replacements for him, first Patrick Johnson, the Russell, and now this new TE on the PS, Ghent, who's billed as having a knack for converting 3rd downs (in other words, a possession guy).No doubt about it, that sucks...and hurts. walzav29
That's how it seems to me also. he looked tentative against the Jet's. That is weird though since he didn't tear and ACL, but there is definitely something wrong. Why isn't he on injured reserve then?
ShulaSteakhouse
His shin is fractured and he said he would be ready to go monday night (who knows). Why in the hell the Bengals can communicate what's going on with him is absurd. He's a star player and we get nothing.I've heard Lapham say his knee is "deteriorating" or some such - but I thought he had arthroscopic surgery on it only? That shouldn't be a career-ending thing.I sent an e-mail to Hobson looking for more clarification but got no response since he only responds to Bengal boofing e-mail's apparently.I freaking hate the Bengals ownership/management people, they are the biggest bunch of clueless idiots and PR morons next to the Reds. I don't know how Lewis puts up with them...
Kirkendall
My gut feeling is that Peter's done. I don't think it's just the shin but also the knee... I agree. Hopefully we're wrong though, but this has been a problem since last year...

I think it has more to do with keeping other teams in the dark than it does keeping the fans out of the loop.

CJBestInAFC
Can't wait to draft Mike Williams.
Scottishbengal
Why isn't he on injured reserve then? Possibly a contract issue - if he's on IR he may not get top dollar. Could be the Bengals way of showing him some loyalty and kindness???

BengalBax
Warrick (10/21/04): It looks like wide receiver Peter Warrick is going to miss what amounts to his fourth straight game with the bruised shin he suffered in the opener. Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis classified him as doubtful before Thursday’s practice
schweinhart
Kinda like Patrick Johnson who was put on IR with a non-season ending injury but demanded to be waived. He should see action this week for the Ratbirds.
jjakq27
I've heard Lapham say his knee is "deteriorating" or some such - but I thought he had arthroscopic surgery on it only? That shouldn't be a career-ending thing. I heard that the knee got infected after the surgery and they had a hard time getting it cleaned up. I also heard Lap say during training camp that they found more arthritis during the surgery than they expected for someone that young.I also wonder about the bruised shin thing. Is it broke and they aren't saying? Usually a bruise is worse when there is more "meat" there like a thigh, calf or bicep but maybe the bone took all of the hit and the bone itself is damaged somehow. Be glad you know as much as you do.Bullsh$%. I spent over $100 on tickets and one of the reasons I did that was to watch Peter Warrick play - seriously - now I just get some BS about his "bruised shin" every week. A bruised shin doesn't last 3 months.Every team and player in the history of the league divulges injuries to the public and press. Coaches are often criticized heavily for not divulging injury status. You're probably one of those Bungal homers who's happy with 3 wins every year and "takes what the Bengals give you and are happy about it."And I don't buy the part about keeping other teams in the dark either. Sounds like Mike Brown/Marvin Lewis arrogance to me. Teams aren't planning for him at this point either way. This whole situation reeks of typical Bengals' management B.S./arrogance as usual. TippCityRick
Actually guys, a bruised bone takes a long time to heal. I bruised my leg about 3 inches above my ankle about 3 summers ago (droped a couch on it while moving my sister) and I was in big pain for about two months. Had to go through 2 rounds of antibiotics and then a penicilin shot to clear up the infection. And I'm normally a quick healer.
jditty47
oh shut up. its worse than a bruise, but no one is asking for the real truth, thats why they are just letting it stay as a bruise.
bengalsfan33
If Warrick is indeed done. here's our chance to see what Kelly can do. Warrick would be missed, but it's time to try out the young guy. This kid could play in college, but it's unknown what he can do in the NFL. If they don't want him to play, go pickup someone else, I don't know who, but find someone...
