BengalBax
I glad that Aikman said that. It must mean Palmer should for sure stay in there. How many concussons has Aikman suffered BTW?

walzav29
Yeah, but shouldn't we have started him last year? Would the outcome be that much worse than how he's doing now?
HoosierCat
Yeah, but shouldn't we have started him last year? No.Would the outcome be that much worse than how he's doing now?Well, let's see, a team with 2-3 wins...many players back in nothing-has-changed-mail-it-in mode, and me having to listen to ijit fans call Palmer a bust since, oh, week 3 of last year? Oh yeah, things could be much worse.
vettespd20
I have read a few other articles in the paper and on other sites stating the same thing about Palmer. There was a good one in yesterdays paper saying that Palmer isnt doing as bad as it seems. It stated that he has made a few mistakes but he also has thrown MORE PASSES than any one in football this year. And throwing that many passes there will be a few mistakes. It states he has been the QB for 4 reg games and will be a great player over the course of the year as well as the rest of the team.

I also read Curnuttes article today, and I hate to admit it but I agree with most everything he said. The offense is playing from behind most of the time and putting too much pressure on Palmer. He could have added that they were putting too much pressure on a dinged up line as well, but failed to mention that. My next question is obvious ..... if a sports writer and the fans can see this .... then why the hell can't the coaches ???????Palmer was trying to get the team down the field and win the game when he got picked. Again ..... playing form behind. Question I have is why the hell was Brat still throwing the ball when we had the lead and Rudi was knocking off an average of 5 yards per carry ???????????? Everybody said we had made a mistake when we hired him and I'm starting to believe them. This isn't a case of getting on him after 4 games ( ala some ijits ( re Joisey ) on Palmer ) ... this has been a continuing problem of his since he's been here. Brat and Frazier should turn around and bend over every time they meet Lewis in the hall so he can kick them square in the ass. If that doesn't work, then they need to start packing. You don't have your starters ???? Tough s**t. neither did Baltimore or Pittsburgh. You game plan for what you have ..... ijits.
Turi
Heard a great thing in Palmers favour on MNF countdown."If you want to go 8-8, go with Kitna. If you want to go to the Superbowl sometime, stick with Palmer."

ShulaSteakhouse
They started off 1-4 last year with Kitna, Kitna made the same types of mistakes and blew the Raiders game also, and Kitna had a horrible December to put them out of playoff contention....this after being in the NFL for 8 years or so.People here have short memories and i'm sure Palmer would love to have a healthy Warrick to throw to like Kitna did, as well as a RB tandem of Dillon and Rudi. Furthermore the defense has been in decline since late last season when Kitna went downhill and the QB play has followed that trend...we've seen the best Kitna can do at this point, and you have to live with Palmer's growing pains so get used to it, his potential is still far greater than Kitna's and it's a matter of people getting healthy, improving the defense, and ironing out mental mistakes and Palmer seeing defenses for the first time in game-deciding situations, and learning from it now, versus later on when a back-up like Kittens is gone to another team.Think before reacting, reactionaries. San Antonio Bengal
It goes like this:Season 1: Let Palmer learnSeason 2: Let Palmer experienceSeason 3+: Let Palmer lead to the playoffs and beyond*Mess up that schedule and you have another Cincinnati QB bust waiting to happen.* given that the defense actually shapes up somewhat, which it will after a couple more years of drafting and FAs

I'm believing that Marvin actually thought that when he came in here--that he had a 3-year plan.1st year as rebuilding year and getting his guys in here. Draft his QB.2nd year as a learning year for Palmer & Co.3rd year as a playoff year.Well, that is not panning. Most of the guys brought in for the defense were not what Marvin thought they were. Most of those guys are just simply occupying a uniform and taking up space.Marvin's going to need more time (if ever). He's got a whole lot to deal with too--namely FRONT OFFICE BUNGLING!!!!! Which is the real reason for the Run Defense woes. The Front Office was unwilling to sign any real DTs in the offseason, and the Defense is paying for it dearly. As we have seen, Palmer's play is not what is losing games for the Bungles. I would venture to say that if Palmer didn't make the playoffs next year, that he is a bust.No way.It takes 11 guys to make a team. Not even Payton Manning alone can make a SB. So, that argument is ludicrous.
