kevnz
You are still an idiot bax. You shouldn't have to put your QB in that situation. Palmer shouldn't have to win games in the 4th quarter. Find a new team if you don't like it.
EdwardG
The best defense won again. We won't win many games, with anyone at quarterback, until we figure out how to stop the run.

Palmer was going to take his licks, we knew that going in, and pulling him now will do nothing but retard his development. No doubt he takes the fall today, but it isn't like Kitna never cost us a game. Let's get healthy over the next two weeks and then DESTROY CLEVELAND! :player:
ShulaSteakhouse
Yeah Kitna never throws INT's in the last 2 minutes.

I could have made that terrible @ss throw. Another "strong-armed" Akili Smith wannabe. Wait until Chad starts getting pi$$ed for not getting the ball. Told you I would give it to week 5, we are off next week and here we are at 1-3. Changes must be made.

Actually, I remember him doing exactly that last year in Oakland. It's funny, this time last year Kit had the exact same record and I'd bet a dime to a dollar that you would have been screaming for Palmer to be starting. I remember that too.....he did that once against Oakland. Palmer has done it now TWICE in 4 games. When Palmer can actually throw a game winning TD I will eat crow. Don't look for that anytime soon. belmontbengal
Cmon, Palmer is the least of our problems...read my lamentation to see what is. You all should already know if you have been watching much this year...(hint: Curtis Martin, Jamal Lewis, Duce Staley, and the bus all love these guys)So, going into the bye, my question is this: What is the FO and the coaching staff going to do to address the complete lack of run defense on this team? (doh, ruined my trivia from above )
HoosierCat
The best defense won again. We won't win many games, with anyone at quarterback, until we figure out how to stop the run. The best offense won. I'm sure I will have to repeat this until I am blue in the face but you will not win games if you don't score points! After 4 games our offense is averaging a pathetic 14.75 points a game. Given that the best defense is the history of football, the '85 Bears, gave up an average of about 13 points a game, compliants about our D amount to com-plaints that we don't have one of the best defenses in the history of football! Forgive me if I consider this just a tad unrealistic. Subtracting the INTs-for-TDs our opponents have scored, our D is giving up less than 21 points a game. Not great, but not beyond the pale...we need an offense!

CTBengalsFan
we aren't going anywhere with this defense anyway. might as well leave palmer in there so he can iron out his mistakes.you never know how the rest of the year is going to go, but switching to kitna is really not the right thing to do IMO. cincy9275
you cannot place the blame on one guy the whole team lost this game. we only played 3 quarters of a game today. we were once again outplayed .out coached and just flat out beat again .we had a couple of chances to put the game away but we didn't .bad calls on 3rd down .bad d and and very timely mistakes cost us once again.this team needs to learn how to win games and make play when needed and not make mistakes. that is our main problem and until we correct that we will continue to lose games. the games we have lost were lost in the 4th quarter. and that's why teams like the colts and patriots win because they make plays when they count .we have to go in to the bye get healthy and regroup and refocus and correct the problems we are having. and come out and and get this team rolling with a win at cleveland. EdwardG
It has been proven in the National Football League - to win a championship, you must have a good defense. Baltimore won a Super Bowl without scoring a touchdown in five games. That season is the reason Marvin Lewis is the coach of our team. He was brought here to install a real defense. So far, our defense has been abysmal. Perhaps Kitna could get another touchdown per game. We would still be 1-3.
Chad Johnson
Lets be like all succesful and swap QBs...Oh wait that doesnt work. We've tried and failed. Look at Miami this year. We went with Palmer and we will stick with Palmer. Until he starts single handedly losing games for us I vote for him.
redsfan2
I have never hated a player more in my life. I am soooooo sick of the QB carousel. I can really relate to Clipper fans. I usually don't respond to your posts because first of all there really isn't much of substance there, and secondly because the other guys are all over you anyway. This one is a little different tho. I noticed something that I think even you will catch on to. You contradict yourself in the same breath. To be specific, you are screaming for Palmer to be benched and at the same time are saying how sick you are of the quarterback carousel. Now think about that .... you're fed up with switching qb's, so your answer to the problem is ..... to switch qb's ........ Tell ya what ............ The Patriots are 3 and 0. They've got a good team page and I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms. Drop the Bengals and this site and go root for the Pats ... at least until you get your medication under control. There'll always be room on the bandwagon when the team starts to win ... and you can come back then . We'll still be here. Everbody'll feel better ..... you included
HoosierCat
Schula:Playing Pittsburgh, Miami and Baltimore in a row wouldn't have anything to do with that would it?Hopefully, it has a lot to do with it. Pitt has a worse D than either Miami or Baltimore and we managed 17 points; the Jets have about as bad a D as ours and we got 24 on them. And we all know about the injuries that have hampered the line and our most productive WR, Warrick. I remain hopeful that we can heal up and come out firing in two weeks.Ed:It has been proven in the National Football League - to win a championship, you must have a good defense.Who's talking about winning a championship? I'm talking about winning games and any way you slice it it's the offense, not the defense, that's failed. Our defense is actually allowing fewer poiints per game than last year; even if you add in those gifted to opponents by the offense we're still more than 4 points/game ahead on average. But our offense is scoring less than 16 points a game, way below last year. What was it LeBlow said? If we score 22 points a game we'll win more than we lose? Whatever else he may have been, he was close to the money there. We averaged 22 last year and won 8 games.Chad:Lets be like all succesful and swap QBs...Oh wait that doesnt work. We've tried and failed. Look at Miami this year. BengalszoneBilly
Listen Bax. I hate to be the one to break it to ya, but Marvin IS NOT GOING TO BENCH PALMER AND START KITNA! I assure you it just ain't gonna happen. It's simply not Marvin's style man. Case closed, strapped down, bolted shut, and welded at the seams! daredevil25
Guys this is no time to start bench talks on Palmer. Right now your team is injured, really injured, we were in a similar spot last year. If the fans and even more importanta the team starts losin' faith in Palmer, the season may be over right now. Its a bad point, but I've seen teams rebound from bad starts, right now things are rough but you were in this game, the Bengals can still finish w/ a winning record, its only week 4. Bobcat Bengal
Y'know, this time, it WAS Palmer's fault. We pardoned him at New York when he threw the INT on the last drive, and he did it again. I don't blame anyone else but him this time around. The Defense did what they could, including forcing two fumbles. I mean come on, we all know this D is and will have problems this season. They kept it close, and prevented a blow out. We had a chance to win this game. And the thing that killed was, when he threw the INT, NO ONE wanted to tackle Polamalu (why am I suprised though). There's no excuse for Carson this time. However, that doesn't mean I want him benched. This time last year, faced with the threat of losing his starting job, Kitna went out and played the best football of his career. Eventually (Sooner than Later I hope) the light will come on for Carson. This game hoirt though......real bad. I didn't even get to see the rest of the game, I got f**king taunted out of the bar because the Steelers fans were talking trash right after that great play. (I didn't want to stay anyway) :player: Who-Dey......(somehow, it's just not as passionate as usual)
Barbarian
Palmer is losing games????? You've still got to be kidding me, Baxstard!!!How about that atrocious offensive playcalling??? With a 17-14 lead, you RUN THE f**king BALL!!!If you're going to blame someone for the losses, Baxtroll--then blame Drunkowski and his idiotic play calling!!!A 17-14 lead, Drunkowski calls Rudi's number 1 f**king time!!!!!!!! ONE f**king TIME!!!!!!He had a 5.0+ ypc, again this week!!!I think we should not only fire Drunkowski, but burn his ass at the f**king stake!!!!!!!!!!
