BengalBax
“One thing that bothers me about NFL football is guys celebrate so many times when they’re just doing their job,” Miller said. “It’s like when a defensive lineman does a great job on a play and cuts the running back into him and the linebacker makes the tackle and he (acts like) he’s king of the world. You know what? Essentially, the defensive lineman did the job to make that play.” ... - Caleb MillerThat is sweet. Caleb is for sure saying and doing the right things. Arizona
Well, when your defense can't tackle most of the time, making a tackle is something to celebrate.

schweinhart
I'd say the perception is he's more up for the task than Adrian Ross or Dwayne Levels or Riall Johnson since they're all gone. I like Miller's speed and smarts. But I was glad to see him get yanked vs. Jets for Landon because Miller wasn't getting the job done in Simmons' place. Maybe his ankle was hurt early in that game, dunno. No doubt he'll get plenty of opps come Sunday. At least he won't be up against Jamal. Scottishbengal
What's the point in a victory dance for doing something you are SUPPOSED TO DO? I've always read it that a "victory dance":-1. Pumps up the playmaker and pysches up his team mates2. Underlines the fact that they've beaten the opposition on that particular play thus keeping an upper hand mentally over the opposition.3. Gives an opportunity for the playmaker to showcase his talents as a possible cheerleader should their be need for a career change in the future. HoosierCat
For some reason, this line in today's Enquirer story on Miller starting caught my eye..."He has suddenness in his lower body. He has good hips," coach Marvin Lewis said of Miller. Now there's a line to use on the ladies . "Hey baby, check out these hips. Good, huh? And that ain't all, sugar. I got suddenness in my lower body. Yeah, I'm feeling real sudden right now..."
The Brew Man
I like Miller alot, I just think its too soon for him. I sure hope he makes an impact, but Im afraid its gonna be tough.
FonzieDog
2. Underlines the fact that they've beaten the opposition on that particular play thus keeping an upper hand mentally over the opposition. I don't mind an appropriate celebration for an outstanding play like a sack, interception, stuffing the back behind the LOS, etc. What I really don't like is when a player celebrates making a tackle after a 5+ yard gain or after tackling a receiver that just caught a pass for a first down. RedsFan75
Well, when your defense can't tackle most of the time, making a tackle is something to celebrate. I was playing ESPN NFL2k5 on the PS2, and got SOOOOO frustrated, because my players weren't tackling. So I turn on my TV and I see the same thing, only it was on the Sunday game! Still frustrated me! Kirkendall
I like Miller alot, I just think its too soon for him. I sure hope he makes an impact, but Im afraid its gonna be tough. Me too. I think he's a little too small and needs to rely on speed too much. I'm so glad we're testing our rookie MLB by week 4. Hopefully he satisfies our need for someone that can actually tackle; who am I kidding..
cover2
I like Miller. I only hope he stays alive long enough to gain some weight and avoids getting killed.....hell we had a guy names Spikes in that Middle position at one time and that's quite a contrast. No, we had some guy named Simmons in the middle, Spikes was an outside linebacker.
cover2
Kev..thanks for the correction, my bad. One more thing on Miller its Ok to be 225 lbs when you have a couple of fat asses up front immovable objects. But to askMiller to take on OL is asking too damn much. kevnz
No worries Cover2But now this is what I don't understand how the hell is 20 or 30 pounds gonna make a difference against some big fatty that weights about 330???? The extra weight might help if RB's and TE's are breaking tackles on the guy, but so far that ain't happening. I don't care how big the guy is, the secret is getting the 4 guys in front of him to tie up the o-line. I mean everybody talks about Ray Lewis being so great, but he ain't exactly the biggest fella on the field either. Of course I wouldn't object to Miller adding a good 10 to 20 pounds of muscle within the next year as long as it don't impact his speed. Each pound helps. And he needs the weight for a more impact, sure-tackle on a guy like Jamal Lewis -- 245 pounds.Sure speed is nice, but he needs the instincts to go along with that which is a primarily a result of youth or he'll get blocked and won't be able to shed off due to his size. ShulaSteakhouse
I saw Miller blow coverages and miss tackles in the backfield yesterday on blitzes and Frazier finally took him out later in the game. The guy just isn't that good, I hope Johnson gets more time, I am not sure what he is doing wrong, or if he's hurting still, but he's a better LB.Miller's got nice speed, but not much else...I actually liked the pick at the time, but he's proven to be worthy of where he was drafted...mid-round depth/special teams fodder. It's too bad the depth here is so inexperienced and piss poor.
schweinhart
Absolute concurrence Shula Steakhouse.Only I would suggest "piss porous" instead of "piss poor" I got the feeling Landon has to get his shoulder popped back into socket a time or two during the course of the game. Here's to signing the best available LB during the bye week.
