I am in favor of Y E S

Looks to me like Palmer is now LOSING games for us...correct?

Looking forward to many intelligent responses...

HE JUST WON the Miami Game last week.

Dude, you're on something too.

;)

Palmer came back and won the Miami game, yes. But (IMO) with Kitna that game would have been a Bengals Blowout. An agressive defense like the Dolphins' is best attacked with a short passing game lead by a smart QB.

That said, no, you don't go back to Kitna now. Going with Palmer makes this a rebuilding year, but that if we stay with him and let him learn, next year the Bengals offense might really be something. On the other hand, taking the team away from Palmer now would stop his development and might even end his career. The Bengals francise simply can't afford to have another QB bust...

But, do you want to wait a year, losing season AGAIN, for the sake of letting a guy develop that it is 50/50 on? When you have a guy that thre 26 tds last season on your bench. Losing at home by 14 and getting totally dominated by an injury plagued team is unacceptable. Palmer looked awful. He had 1 good drive last week guys. He mad a crucial INT against the Jets. I just don't understand the logic here?

Oh well, in Marvin we TRUST

I want to add something else here...

I am sick of DEVELOPING...

I am tired of waiting until next year. Let's let Akili develop. Lets let Carson develop. Lets develop some of these young draft picks by starting them and cutting our veterans. WHAT?????????????????

So we go 6-10 this year and everyone says "Just wait man, Carson is gonna ROCK"

Next year he sucks, Kitna is gone, and it begins all over again. I am saying it right now, we are the 3rd worst team in the NFL this year. Mike Brown loves this. Sell out all them home games, the fish has taken the bait. Jeezus. We can't play defense, and guess what, now we have no d@mn offense. I am sick of this $hit year after year after year. MY GOD.

Nice reply by the way Kev....drunk from tailgating again? Mike Brown thanks you for your donation.

Piss off troll. Where were you last week when they won?

Not here. So you want to come on and talk smack to me feel free.

Was it a loss? Yep, but do you really trully think that Kitna would have done better??? Come on, he folded last year against them in the clutch and if not for a lucky bounce or two last year in the first game he could have been a loss then too.

You don't understand football, they could have morgaged the future to win this year(but really they would have only won a few more games at most) but would have sacrificed the next several years.

Another Palmer pick! Thats 3 today!!! yeah!

Hope he continues this "development" into next week!

I have to agree with Kevnz here, BungleBax--your behavior is a little trollish.

So, let me ask you a question--what about the 2005 season??? Jon Kitna is getting up there on the Testaverde Scale.

Another question:

If you don't let Carson Palmer get in his licks, then what do you do then??? You can't keep letting KINTna go 8-8 for the year. That's ALL KINTna is worth--8-8. Palmer is capable of big things in the future. Get the man some time.

Damn, some of you homers are really impatient.

:huh::huh::huh:

Palmer is losing games for us? What the hell are you watching? I am sick and tired of people who don't understand football coming in and sounding off.

We lost this game because of our defense. We were losing almost the entire game. When you are losing, you are more likely to pass the ball (especially us with Bratkowski). When you pass the ball, and the defense knows you are going to pass the ball, you are more likely to throw interceptions. When the defense has Ed Reed, Chris McAllister, and Ray Lewis on it, you are really more likely to throw interceptions. Remember the last Raven game (the one with Kitna starting)? The exact same thing happened.

Palmer looked good in our first game against the Jets. His INT only occurred in the last few minutes when (you guessed) we were airing it out and the Jets knew we were passing. He did not look great against Miami, but we won. We won because we played good defense. He looked fine today, given that we were losing the entire game, and he was pressured the entire game. There isn't a QB in the league who would have done much better than Palmer did today. We need to start figuring out how to play defense, because that is why we are losing games.

Palmer's problems are fixable - he moved the ball up and down the field on the Ravens all day long, which is impressive for a QB in his 3rd pro game playing aginst a defense like that.

Levi Jones almost deserves more criticism than he does, Levi is either signficantly hurt or just as terrible as he looks. He was on his a$$ all day long (was at game). Suggs abused him. Palmer was hit from his blind side numerous times and I'm suprised he didn't get hurt the way he was hit a few times.

Jesus the guy threw for 316 yards against the Ravens, and he still had a "Bad" game - which he did - he'll figure it out with time and repetition - those who can't see that are just being ignorant.

The Bengals aren't going to win games with this defense and guys like Levi Jones protecting Palmer's blind side, and apparently this coaching staff overrated.

Seems that Levi is injured. He showed up on the injury report at foxsports.com His right knee again.

I think you're right. Let's not give him a chance to develop. Maybe we could trade Palmer and cut our losses.

Right! Count me too among the not so brave herd of bandwagoneers prepared to jump from Carson's ship! He was supposed to be great right out of the box, right? Well he's not, and that's all my short little attention span can handle. Now I'm leaving and going to play with something in my pants that's even shorter than my list of football knowlege!

1. First of all, Kevnz doesn't live in Cincy, not even in the US, he lives in New Zeland (hence the name KevNZ)

2. Two, Palmer had over 300 yards passing in this game, and he threw over 50 times. That's not anything to sneeze at, especially against the Ravens Defense

and 3. Ditty, your signature of Feely getting tackled, it looks like he's wearing Bengals pants when he's getting hit! Damn he got clobbered!

Kitna should be starting because he is obvisously the better QB. Why would you bench a guy with pro bowl #'s last year for a guy who has never taken a snap until the first game of this season. Jon could lead this team to a superbowl i bet. He could be a franchise QB! I saw a post on anouther topic that said we should not play Kitna because he is getting to be like Testaverde(who by the way leads the league in passing yards through the first two weeks of the season and will probaly go back ahead after tomorrow night).Kitna is only 32 and is 8 years younger than Vinny. I am sick of playing for the future! Why can't Kitna be the future?!?!?!?!I like Palmer but we put him right in the fire when Kitna is just plain better than him. If Carson Palmer wasn't a heisman trophy winner and was a 3rd round pick and not the #1 pick but still had the same skill and the same talent level that he does he wouldn't start.

I like Palmer but Kitna flat out gives the Bengals a better chance to win.

Maybe Palmer will prove me wrong next week but I think common sense tells you that Kitna is the right choice.

I think that we would be 2-1 or 3-0 with Kitna. I know we would have blown the Dolphins out with him.

I'm a diehard Bengals fan and love this team and I think Kitna is just more ready and gives us a better chance to go to the playoffs.

BTW don't think I am posting this because I like Kitna.

It's because I like the Bengals and Kitna should be their #1 QB.

GO BENGALS!!!!!

If there's any real criticism of Palmer it is 2 things.

1. He needs to develop more touch. His passes are bullets and he's highly accurate. However, he doesn't seem to be able to arc it very well yet. On the play the Ravens got a personal foul on him, he would've had Chad for a TD if he had some touch on it. Granted he was pressured hard and on the run out of the pocket, but with more time he makes that throw.

Besides that play, several of his passes were too high and hot to open receivers.

2. He's got to run some. Too many throwaway passes when he could get positive yardage turning upfield. Nobody wants to see him get hurt, but he's one tough SOB and can take it.

His judgment was more of a problem today but throwing 52 times is bound to produce some bad plays.

The 2 picks by Reed were terrible throws. I don't think he saw Reed on either. Had he lofted the ball deeper on the 1st pick, it would've been TD Chad. The 3rd INT was a nice snag on a high throw by the defender.

The picks didn't completely kill this game. Neither did the fumble. The Ravens only scored 7 off his 4 TOs. But they damn sure deflated the momentum.

Bengals were at midfield on the fumble, Ravens 48 on 1st pick, and Ravens 29 on 2nd pick. Major buzzkillers in that respect.
