The Brew Man
Ok, lets start it up. Last year the Ravens came to the Jungle and left with broken wings. This year they come to town hurting already. All Pro TE Todd Heap may not be in the lineup this week after getting injured yesterday. So, let the discussion begin, things on my mind.....- offense looked bad last night, and now the Ravens D? could be ugly again- Ravens have showed me nothing on offense so far, even Jamal has struggled with a banged up O-line- If Heap doesnt play, blitzing or stacking the box against Jamal may be good strategies..... Scottishbengal
I've been saying it for a while now - The Ravens ain't the team they were. Their D will keep them in contention/win some games for them this year, but their O is going to prove to be their achiles heel.Just like the Bengals rise to success will be step by step, so will the decline of Baltimore, with a few death throes thrown in along the way. This will be an intriguing match-up, with the Bengals not over-convincingly on the up, and the Ravens not giving up the ghost just yet.Pretty even stuff, this game could go either way. My prediction Bengals 28-17 Ravens(........waits to hear the retorts from Jam, Arizona et al)
HoosierCat
Beating the Ravens isn't hard -- on paper. On defence, stop Jamal & force Blow-ller to beat you (he won't). On offense, do what we did last night: avoid mistakes, don't force plays, stay loose and wait for your chance.Unfortunately, that's on paper. On the field, it's easier said than done. But...I think the Bengals can do it.

LABengalsFan09
Bengals 14Ravens 9This one is going to be ugly...... but more big plays for the Bengals offense than versus Miami. I do expect to see more Bengals turnovers, but not as many as the Ravens.....

WHO DEY AGAIN?
It's a shame Primetimes hurt. I really wanted to see him get toasted by the WRs. Did anyone see the cheap shot Porter gave Heap? He was hurt but they needed to spike it so he lined up and when they snapped it Porter put him on his ass. Please heal fast Primetime. HoosierCat
Well, we didn't earn any respect from Vegas last night. Early line puts us as 3-point home dogs to the Crows.

We scored no offensive TD vs. Miami and the Ravens D is one of the leagues best as well...but if the Browns can do it....certainly the Bengals can? Right? Barbarian
I'll say 9-6 Ravens--in a FG shootout. This game is going to be the most inept offenses of the NFL (besides the Dolphins) going head-to-head.
jditty47
nah im gonna go with a 20-19 squeaker win by the bengals.
The Brew Man
If Jamal gets injured for some reason, is it true these two guys are waiting in the wings for thier chance to shine??
kevnz
What's up with Arizona? picking us to win 34-0? Has hell officially frozen over? While I don't think the score will be anything so lopsided I do expect a Bengals win. The Ravens have less offense than the Dolphins, and Palmer has now had some playing time against a top D. I think it'll be another tight game 17-12 with the Bengals winning. Arizona
Depends which team shows up on Sunday. If the Week 1 Ravens show up, which i doubt, then you'll easily handle us. If, however, the week 2 team shows up, it'll look just like this game did. You won't be able to establish the run, Palmer turns the ball over a la Big Ben. I'm sorry, but your defense hasn't arrived yet. A couple of plays against an awful offense don't legitimize them. Pittsburgh's defense is far better in the front 7 than yours, and we were able to push them around. Two outcomes possible:1. Palmer keeps his head about him: Ravens win 24-172. Palmer gets stuck in quicksand and implodes: Ravens win 34-7 with multiple ints returned for TDsI will admit of course that this is the NFL, and anything is possible. But unless my boys don't show up for some reason, we win. And after the Bengals showed they were "legit" last season, you won't catch us by surprise this time. This time the INT doesn't bounce off of Reed's shoulder, this time he takes it to the house.

Kirkendall
- offense looked bad last night, and now the Ravens D? could be ugly againI think this is why it was important to win against a defense similar to the Ravens. Now the Bengal coaches now what this team can and can't do against a tough defense.. hopefully we learn and implement. If Heap doesnt play, blitzing or stacking the box against Jamal may be good strategies.....I think we should apply this anyway. Let Boller beat us, first Bengals-Ravens matchup of 2003 he threw for over 300 yards and we won, but if Jamal breaks loose we could be in trouble (second Bengals-Ravens matchup). Consider this; I'm sure there will be a lot of talk this week about Jamal's poor performance thus making him play far harder to prove he's still in 2003 form. All points Joisey made earlier...Unfortunately, that's on paper. On the field, it's easier said than done. But...I think the Bengals can do it.Agreed, but the Bengals HAVE to stop the rush.. if we do that then I think we have a great chance at winning.Yeah. I saw that on Sportscenter. Ditka said it was a legit hit. Looked a little like hitting a guy when hes down. I thought it was a bit dirty. It's football. I'm sorry, but your defense hasn't arrived yet. A couple of plays against an awful offense don't legitimize them.I have to agree here. After giving up tons of yards to a formidable offense in New Jersey, and then playing well against Miami, I think we should all still be extremely cautious on how the defense performs in the future. I do think the Bengals were as fired up as I've seen them since the KC game last season considering they were on National TV and under the lights at home. Come on, you have nobody that can catch the ball, the guy you have throwing the ball can't...Expect to see a lot of 9 man fronts.J Lewis has how many yards per carry? 2.84....How many yards has Boeller thrown for? Almost the same total as Carson threw in his first game.
