membengal
Bengals cut Victor Leyva this morning and have brought back Alex Sulfsted. Odd move, since they just cut Sulfsted for Leyva a week ago.I am guessing that maybe Leyva missed a meeting or something like it.
Skilly McRailnob
FYI, Sulfsted's nickname at the mariemont tennis courts was sponge.
schweinhart
Sulfsted ever play any center?
HoosierCat
Well, this one came out of left field! Dunno whether it's good or bad but definitely weird.Same story said Big Willie and Lynch both got dinged in practice Wednesday. Man, WTF did the Bengals do to p*ss off the injury gods?!?! BengalPappaw
[i am guessing that maybe Leyva missed a meeting or something like it.]There must have been something more than "missing a meeting" -- this sounds much more serious. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
TippCityRick
I agree, very odd. I'm glad to see Sulfsted back though. He's a Miami grad so I have followed him. Seems he played well this preseason. It will be interesting to find out what Victor did to get himself cut only a couple days before kickoff. ShulaSteakhouse
They're both back-up fodder with no NFL future so big whoop, you could interchange either of them and get the same sub par performance out of them either way.Big Willie getting injured is nothing new either, guy gets hurt constantly, too bad Andrews didn't get any time this preseason due to his injury as well and didn't look that impressive to begin with. The troubles with the oft-injured, overrated o-line here continues.Get some players who don't get hurt constantly for God's sakes, it's been this way for years here with the scrap heap o-lineman the Bengals have and never let go of. Same with the stupid punter situation since Johnson was cut.I think Mike Brown has more control over this team than people think still, ecspecially on offense (because I think Lewis never would've drafted Perry and it reeks of Mike Brown philosophy). But any ways just tired of hearing about the constant injury problems with the lineman and the ridiculous list of injuries this team has this year - it's beyond ridiculous the way guys are getting hurt. It's called football. You should check it out sometime...I mean, really...you're talking about these injuries are the Bengals' fault or something. It's just part of the game...it could be worse...at least you're not a Dolphins fan.

Take a pill steakhouse.Bengals HAVE to report every little ding. All NFL teams do, and the NFL is making that a point of emphasis this year as well. Apparently aimed at NE, because of Bill Belichick's notoriously skimpy injury reports in past years. The reason? Well, gambling of course. NFL trying to keep nicks and dings from being fodder for "insiders" or whatever. So if Willie has a bruise or whatever, they need to list him as probable. That's the way the NFL has decreed it.No, not an earth-shattering move on Sulfted vs. Leyva, I posted because I was more curious about what Leyva must have done.Peace. HoosierCat
They're both back-up fodder with no NFL future so big whoop, you could interchange either of them and get the same sub par performance out of them either way.Yeah, no big whoop, I mean every team fires one of its backup linemen and hires back one it just cut 3 days before its first game with a rookie QB...happens all the time...no big whoop... Big Willie getting injured is nothing new either, guy gets hurt constantly, too bad Andrews didn't get any time this preseason due to his injury as well and didn't look that impressive to begin with.ShulaSteakhouse = NoFan??? Same dumba$$ logic. Yeah, eff Andrews. Never mind he only saw 70 snaps in college and was described by everyone on the planet as a long-term project. What a piece of s**t, he's not ready after one training camp and a few preseason tilts? As for Willie, he gets injured, sure, but hardly all the time, and almost always plays through it. He only made the Pro Bowl last year...The troubles with the oft-injured, overrated o-line here continues.Yeah, Anderson...Pro Bowler...Steinbach, espn all-rookie team for 2003...yeah, cut their lame a$$es, they suck Get some players who don't get hurt constantly for God's sakes,Wait, how many games did Willie miss last year? Levi? Steinbach? Braham? Why not support your assertions (answer: they're BS).I think Mike Brown has more control over this team than people think still, ecspecially on offense (because I think Lewis never would've drafted Perry and it reeks of Mike Brown philosophy). Yeah, makes no effing sense. Why draft a top RB when you have Rudi (who turned down a long-term offer from the Bengals according to Ludwig becaue he wants to test the FA market). Oh....wait a minute... Dang, that slipped my mind, I was wondering why everyteam in the NFL had longer than normal injury lists....What's next though, are teams gonna start putting EVERYTHING down to throw people off? Hand falls asleep in a meeting? List him as questionable with a "stinger"?
CTBengalsFan
if you watched that injury list marvin had in that video he kept saying that he expected people to play even though they were on the injury listso i have a feeling that a lot of the injuries being listed are, as stated above, not as serious as they sound....i hope
HoosierCat
some spec from Hobson:Anderson didn't practice Thursday, which seems to be related to the Leyva move. With Andrews out, the thinking may be that Sulfsted was their best option at right tackle if they had to go to someone in a game.Looks like Willie may be a scratch, hope it's nothing serious. Still a little surprised they cut Leyva, tho Lynch's injury may have made cutting him a non-option. This 2 fullbacks thing sucks, no excuse to have 2 these days. Once Willie is OK any bets they cut Alex & resign Victor? Or do they wait for Lynch to be good and cut him? I'm for the latter, if possible.
