Some run stopping ability would be a huge plus. A LB who can cover and tackle. Premium on sure tackling. OTHER: I'd like to see a genuine star PR/KR. Could be a DB, RB, or WR. I think we have our OC of the future in Matt Lee, although I'd be a lot happier if he bulks up to 315 or so before next season starts I also believe we have our new starter at TE for 2025 in Erick All The 2024 class is shaping up into one of the best draft classes we've ever had: --Mims is a quality starter at ORT. Just pray he can stay healthy --Jenkins had the tackle on the 4th and goal --Burton looks like a star in the making --All is already starter+ quality as a blocker and added 4 catches on 4 targets. 100%. I am all but certain that at least 2 of the catches were for first down --Daijahn had the fake punt pass breakup vs the Panthers --Lee hasnt been on the field and probably wont unless Karras is injured, but was wonderful in the preseason and looks every bit the part of the heir apparent we will need when Karras leaves Thats quite a bit for a draft class, especially this early Quote

The free agent list has a handful of starters and contributors on it. I think this draft is going to be a really important one to them. All drafts are important but with Burrow now having and Chase probably getting the big money, draft picks are going to have to hit. I can’t even begin and don’t really want to think about the names out there in the draft but have no issue with it being heavy on linemen. D line needs to be addressed multiple times. Quote

Actually like how this one turned out. 16: Jaylon Walker, LB, Georgia. Army wanted a linebacker, he gets the best one in the draft. Hybrid LB and edge type. Germaine Pratt, you’re on notice. 48: Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame. Converted WR with a knack for generating turnovers. 64: Cam Scattebo, HB, Arizona State. Bengals base offense is now the wishbone. This one was kind of unique as so far the first round has been trending more toward offense and when I press there on d I’m unhappy with the rest of the draft. And of course the big question is Tee. If they let him walk then WR early is in the mix since we apparently used our third last year on a kick returner… Quote

Didn’t suck but never got much above replacement level. 2005 David Pollack — one of the great what-ifs. Struggled with a position change to LB, seemed to be coming on, then the injury and done. 1998 Brian Simmons — solid contributor but ultimately meh. 1987 Jason Buck — bust. If you aren’t watching, one of the RB’s I love in the draft is having a night tonight. Penn State’s Nick Singleton. EDIT: He finished the game with 84 yards rushing (5.6 ypc) and 3 TD's, with 2 receptions for 33 total yards. I was seeing him in the 3rd round and getting him there would be a steal for any team. While I can think of other ways to improve this team, adding another big, strong, fast RB to pair with Chase Brown is ok by me. Quote

Quote How contract situations play out for Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase could pivot the calculus, but it'd be nearly impossible for Cincinnati to ignore the defense. Without a doubt, that unit kept the Bengals from the playoffs this season, allowing 25.5 points per game (25th). So I'm matching them with a prospect who does a little bit of everything on that side of the ball. Campbell had 112 tackles, 5 sacks, 12 run stops and an interception this season. He's instinctive and explosive. Can't say I know anything about him, but looking at a few draft sites, he seems widely viewed as the second-best LB in the draft, though big board-wise he tends to fall in the early second range, like 35-40th ranked overall. WR, TE, and RB all need to be in the mix of consideration as well. Free agency, as always, will help prioritize things before the draft. Quote

Give me a defensive front 4 guy in the first and then have at it after that. I love Singleton from Penn State as well, but he's returning for another year unfortunately. Golden was fun to watch this year as well. I'm not as high on Jeanty as everyone else seems to be however. As always, the first chip is going to be free agency. Once we see what we get and what we lose, the clearer picture will come into focus. I'm all in on draft mode at this point and that sucks. Not being in the playoffs makes the time from the new year to the draft really drag out. However, rarely a day goes by where I don't do at least two or three mock drafts. Don't know why, but they are fun to me. Quote

I think that's kind of the point with Tee. He's big AND athletic. Those guys don't grow on the draft tree. If they do, it's an early selection and I'm all in on giving Golden a new weapon based on what he wants/needs for the defense. The only thing that really takes me off of a defender at #17 is a free agency bonanza that nets us a starting DT, DE and Safety. Ok, maybe two of those three, but still. Minus a guy like WR Tetairoa McMillan from Arizona dropping, that's a no. If you haven't seen that kid play, check him out. T-Mac reminds me a lot of Tee. 1 Quote
