JPW
I know that it isn't a big deal tonight but, one of our Punters is going to have to rise to the occasion. And be ready to do the job by opening day.

daredevil25
Wow, preseason or not that's an a#$ whoopin! Don't bring that team to ATL next week
kevnz
That was awsome...I know it's just a preseason, but Palmer showed some mad skill against the Patriots probowlers...Plus it was great that the Pats kept their starters in so long against our second and third stringers to get them experiance against starters....The Pats did not want to lose this game and that's what makes this so nice....Corey who??? BengalszoneBilly
So this DOMINATING win over the current Super Bowl Champs makes me wonder one thing...WHO THE HELL WAS WEARING THOSE BENGALS UNI'S IN TAMPA BAY ON MONDAY NIGHT!?! It sure as hell wasn't the same guys that wearing those uni's tonight!! A great day in Bengaldom! The best since the whoopin' the Chiefs got last season!!(Yeah...yeah. I know it's just preseason, but do you think the Pats actually wanted to have it look liked we bitch slapped them? They played their starters far deeper into the game than we did!!) daredevil25
No the Pats wouldn't keep starters in, unless they were taking an A#$ WHOOPIN! Its only preseason but dayum! when 2nd and 3rd stringers are still owning you something's wrong. I still don't place much stock in it, the Eagles loss to them big time and they just came out smoking. Anyways, its great our team both came back from miserable first game performances, I'm lookin' forward for some fun in the Dome next week. Kirkendall
Just got back from the game. Great game. If Palmer plays like he did, he'll win league MVP (his incompletes were still catchable balls). Showed a lot of his athletisism. Clemons had an incredible motor. Brousard looked very good, and TJ made up for his Monday disaster. One note, NE didn't look like themselves. I wonder if it has anything to do with showing very little so the Bengals have little to work with on December 12th.Great win. Offensive line looked best. They had a ton of great blocks for Carson to throw and allow Rudi 50 yards in the first quarter.Another note, NE had most of the Defensive starters in the second half until the fourth quarter and Dillon was in until half way through the 3rd Q. Dillon did little. We were loud against him, but he didn't do well. OK, now I hope that we got it out of our system against Dillon and move on. skyline
Part of it was the fact that it's offseason, like you said, Kirk. We'll see a much more complex look from them in the regular season. That said, I hope they'll be seeing much more complexity from us as well...The O-line did seem solid...and still without Steinbach... HoosierCat
One note, NE didn't look like themselves. I wonder if it has anything to do with showing very little so the Bengals have little to work with on December 12th. Lap interviewed Palmer in the locker room after the game, and Palmer emphasized that the Pats were playing a "very vanilla" defense (which I think is a good indication he wasn't letting the W go to his head). Still, the Bengals weren't doing anything complicated on offense, either, and they cut through them like the proverbial hot knife through butter.I'm taking it for what it's worth: a runaway preseason victory against a top-ranked team in which the worst we can complain about is the poor punting. Good job, Bengals.
richmond_mat
Dillon did little. We were loud against him, but he didn't do well. OK, now I hope that we got it out of our system against Dillon and move on. You are waaayyyyyy too nice. I'll boo him until the day I die. Heck, I'll boo him at his HOF induction if it ever happens. But if last night is any indication, his glory days are done.
wookie
First of all, I'm not going to let a preseason win get me over-excited just like I wasn't going to let last weeks loss to the Bucs get me too down. It is just another preseason game, no big deal. That said...I'm very pleased with Palmer's play this week. He seems to have overcome some of the problems he was having early in camp and he is playing smart football. I did notice that he still tends to pull back a little on his throws...the 48-yarder to CJ probably could have been a TD. Johnson was behind the D and had to slow down to make the catch. We know the guy can throw 80+ yards so he should have been able to put it out in front a little for CJ to run under. Not bad, just something I would like to see him iron out. The O-line really stepped up their performance from Monday, they were still very good in the running game and did better in pass protection. The Patriots didn't really pull out the type of pass rush scheme that the Bucs had, but it was still an improvement. Was Vince Wilfork much of a factor in the game at all??T.J. played better, but I think he still needs to find a new home...I just keep getting images of Artrell Hawkins in my head. Don't know why.Perry needs to keep his head in the game when he's playing. We don't need a guy acting like Kellen Winslow out on the field. Be a professional. The D really stepped up and showed what they are capable of, hopefully it will carry over into each week and they will continue to improve. Caleb Miller was a great pick, and Williams could be starting before the end of the season. The D-line was getting pressure, but Thornton did say that they only had to deal with 1 on 1 situations and no double teams like the Bucs threw at them.Overall an encouraging performance, one that I hope the team can build on.BTW, opening day is going to be different...did anyone notice how good the Jets looked against the Colts last night?? They had a similar performance to the Bengals. Pennington was locked in and his receivers were playing great, and their Defense was fantastic. Hopefully they will still struggle a bit in their 1st game, but if both teams continue at this weekends pace then it will be a great game and both teams will be a force in their respective divisions.
