ShulaSteakhouse
Basically, Dalton sucked (again), especially under pressure and downfield, Winston was terrible, Lamur can't cover anybody, Whitworth, Hill, Geno and Gino were good. Hunt was decent in a limited role.Remember this stuff when the annual Dalton excuse-making comes up. They're spinning their wheels with him until they find someone else. I think the need for a RT, DE, LB's and a Safety are all obvious (and most of those needs seem to be an annual problem for Marvin's teams, because again, the Bengals' don't spend $$ or high draft picks on interior o-lineman, safeties or LB's typically, or enough - the great Mike Brown philosophy flaw IMO).------------------------------------------Offense*Andrew Whitworth carried over his play from the regular season, holding down the left side of the line well against the Colts. He yielded zero pressures on 42 pass sets on his way to a +1.6 pass block grade, leading all Bengal offensive linemen.*Eric Winston (wire to wire at RT, 62 snaps) allowed four total pressures (two hurries, a hit, and a sack) and also struggled controlling his defenders in the run game. His -2.8 run block grade was a season low.*WR snaps: Sanu 61, Tate 49, Hamilton 28, Little 4Passing*Andy Dalton's -4.1 pass grade was second from the bottom among the eight starting quarterbacks during the opening round, with only Ryan Lindley of Arizona worse at -4.7.*Dalton was pressured on 13 of 41 dropbacks (~32%). He particularly struggled on these plays, going 3-9 for 35 yards and a -3.5 passing grade.*Nine of Dalton's passes traveled 10 yards or more in the air. He completed one of these.Rushing*Jeremy Hill finished with a +0.5 rush grade. He picked up 16 yards after contact and forced a missed tackle on his 13 carries.*Giovani Bernard was again primarily used in a receiving role and excelled. He caught eight of nine targets and forced three missed tackles after the catch. He finished with a +1.4 receiving grade.*HB snaps: Bernard 41, Hill 21*Defense*Geno Atkins led the defensive line, picking up two Run Stops and four total pressures including a sack on 36 rush attempts. His +3.1 pass rush grade led all defensive linemen in this game.*Emmanuel Lamur had a rough day in coverage, yielding eight catches on eight targets. He allowed five catches by tight ends and three by running back Dan Herron. His -3.8 coverage grade was his second lowest grade in this area this season behind the New England game (-4.8).Signature statsAndy Dalton was the least-pressured quarterback during Wild Card weekend at 31.7% of drop backs.*Mohamed Sanu was one of eight wideouts with a drop during WC weekend.*Margus Hunt's 15.9 Pass Rush Productivity mark (2 pressures on 11 rush attempts) was fifth-best among 4-3 DEs during WC weekend.Of note: Read more: http://www.espn1530.com/onair/lance-mcalister-7818/tuesday-stuff-bengals-marvin-talks-sb-13120168/#ixzz3O4GhoDSJ
HoosierCat
Basically, Dalton sucked (again), Basically, no. Just for kicks, why don't we look at what PFF actually wrote about Dalton's play? There really weren’t a lot of inaccurate throws from Dalton that led to his -4.1 grade, but it was more about a lack of positives to point to as most of his completions came on easy, underneath routes and only 28.4% of his 155 passing yards came through the air. The loss of Green and Gresham certainly hurt, and the Colts played it tight in the secondary, but Dalton was unable to capitalize on the few opportunities he did have throughout the game.Hmmm. So, while Dalton did miss some throws (and all QBs are 100% on target, right?) he was mostly accurate but had few opportunities, due in significant part to Gresham and Green missing the game and having to throw to a bunch of receivers who couldn't get open.Yes, thanks, I'll certainly keep that in mind going forward. HoosierCat
They don't need a safety. Iloka is solid and Nelson is fine, though he's getting a bit old. Depth there is an issue but that doesn't need to be addressed early in the draft. The same can be said for CB, even if Newman and Hall don't return. Outside of depth I don't see the secondary as an issue at all this offseason.

He certainly has the speed for it.If not him, then yes, draft someone. CB, WR, whatver...
