HoosierCat
Lap said a ton of offensive coaches around the NFL called #Bengals expressing interest in OC job, "they know the weapons here"That's a tweet from Lance yesterday. Obviously it plays into my dissatisfaction with the speed of Hue's hire, but I plowed that field elsewhere and there's no need to do it again. Instead, I invite you to consider what Lapham said on its own, irrespective of who got the OC job or how they got it.I can't be the only one who is just a little amazed at the idea of widespread interest in a coaching vacancy in Cincinnati. Traditionally, Cincinnati has been considered as a place where coaching careers go to die. Think back to 2003 and the search for a new head coach. The candidates were hardly the cream of the crop. The Bengals got to choose between Mike Mularkey (who?), Tom Coughlin (just fired after three straight losing seasons in Jax) and Marvin Lewis, who was the Mike Zimmer of his day -- the allegedly deserving guy all the scribes were lamenting couldn't get a head coaching job.The thought of getting a top-tier coach was a complete pipe dream. Not only wouldn't Mike Brown pay for or give enough control to someone like Bill Parcells, Parcells himself dismissed the idea of working for Mike. And as goes the head coaching spot, so go the coordinator jobs. Too often, they would be manned by people who otherwise wouldn't be in the league. Cases in point include Bob Bratkowski and Chuck Breshnahan, neither of whom is in the NFL these days. And the one good coordinator we had, Leslie Frazier, was run out of town by the head coach!Yet this year, when the OC position opened up, the Bengals were flooded with calls. Simply amazing. And this, too: it should be noted that we're talking about people calling for the job of offensive coordinator. That would be a job directing an offense that -- according to roughly 95% of Bengals fans today -- is led by History's Greatest Monster, Andy Dalton. And doing so under the control of -- again, according to roughly 95% of Bengals fans and their leader, Stephen A. Smith -- History's Second-Greatest Monster, Marvin Lewis. Yet despite these supposed impediments, which yet again according to fans and media alike absolutely destroy all hope of any playoff wins ever, "a ton of offensive coaches around the NFL called #Bengals expressing interest in OC job."Why, you'd almost think that Bengals fans and the media were...wrong. But that can't be, right?

But that can't be, right? Wrong? Surely not. 11-5 teams are clearly teams you want to avoid. Teams with no future. Teams destined for failure. COB
Yesterday's news. Who are we going to get for your new DC, assuming Zim goes? I'm ok with Hue as OC, I am not ok with anyone currently on the staff as DC. I will be Hoosier-like in my disdain for a quick inside hire if it is done on the defensive side of the ball. HoosierCat
Yesterday's news. Yes, of course, you're right. It's totally yesterday's news that Cincinnati has become an attractive place to coach. I should have remembered how in 2011 the Bengals had to beat off all the best offensive minds in football in order to hire Jay Gruden and his impeccable NFL pedigree... There are probably 3 or 4 additional guys who might make sense. I'm not a Schwartz fan but I guess he could be considered.
Kazkal
That's a tweet from Lance yesterday. Obviously it plays into my dissatisfaction with the speed of Hue's hireFew Things part reason why I think hue was the guy is all honesty feel like gives best chance next year,But if team has another lame duck seasonTHen we should be blowing up things anyways,Another thing to wonder about is maybe they were afraid if and when they lose Zimmer that he would took hue as a OC.Who both also have Ties togather.
