gregcook68
These guys are as serious as it gets! If this momentum continues into Sunday.................they could seriously be playing in New York! YOU NEVER KNOW!!"This game wasn't about being 8-0 home, it was about respect," Whitworth said. "As good as we've played the last couple of years, we've yet to earn respect. We've won the division but I don't think anybody thought we'd win. They thought Baltimore would come in here and beat us again. I think people don't look at us in the same light as they do Pittsburgh and Baltimore. When we lose, they say, 'We told you so.' When they lose they say, 'They'll get it fixed and they'll be back.' We don't have respect as good as we are. Not only is this team really talented, if it starts to play the way that commands respect we'll be hard for a lot of people to handle. Until we hold that trophy, we won't have enough (respect)."Dalton's 33 touchdown passes and 4,296 yards are club records. The 20 interceptions are a career high, boosted by Sunday's career-high four interceptions. But as the clock wound down Sunday, Whitworth had some words for Dalton."I told him for 25 years nobody has gone 8-0 at home," Whitworth said. "You take four interceptions and somebody will forget that in five minutes. But what they won't be able to say is another quarterback in the last 25 years has gone 8-0 (at home). You wouldn't trade that for anything. I told him because you wouldn't trade not having any interceptions for that is why you are who you are.""Honestly, we feel good going into every game no matter where it is … if we don't beat ourselves than nobody can beat us," said nickel back Chris Crocker. "On defense, we're as confident as anyone could possibly be. We were (on point) today. We had a good week of practice. We were the bullies today. We know Coach Zimmer in and out," Crocker said of his six-year defensive coordinator. "We know what he likes to call. We know his standards and how he wants it. We play that way and we're well-prepared and we have playmakers. The depth we have is unbelievable. That really helps.""It seems like no matter what we do around here people doubt us," Peko said. "But we were just talking among ourselves. We have to earn it against the former champions. They needed a win to make the playoffs. Shut the door on them. I think we got a little respect today. I think as long as we keep winning people are going to see we're not the regular old Bengals. This is a hard-fighting team. We don't give up and we stick together. It could have been 14-0," Peko said. "We just wanted to show them we're not messing around today. Before the game, we talk about taking the field like we own it. One play a time and when we do that there aren't many teams that can mess with us. When there's a sudden change with (a turnover), the whole team gets ready.""We've got offensive linemen playing multiple positions; we've got receivers playing multiple positions. We've got receivers going in when tight ends get hurt, we've got tight ends playing fullback, the fullback playing tight end," Hawkins said. "When you have that luxury I think it helps the O-coordinator out.I've been saying it since day one. We've got a great group of receivers. A tight group. We're accountable…we're happy for each other," Hawkins said. "Those guys were blocking their butts off. I don't have to worry about those guys missing their blocks because they take that as seriously as they do running the routes. We've added not just players, but great players," Hawkins said. "We're very versatile, as opposed to the last two years going into the playoffs. We have such strong personnel in any situation," Hawkins said. "If we're given a chance, we can do a lot of damage. Receiver, tight end, running back. The sky is really the limit. This is nothing to new us."

cincyhokie
What was Whitworth saying again?/>http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000307046/article/philip-rivers-san-diego-chargers-looking-dangerous-for-playoffs"Yes, I know the Bengals are dominant and unblemished at home. I also know San Diego won in Denver. And I know, as I have written before, that, a strong regular season aside, I won't trust Andy Dalton or Bengals coach Marvin Lewis in the playoffs or pick them to win a game until I actually see it happen.Let's be honest. Which quarterback would you put your faith in: Dalton or Rivers?Through two playoff matchups, Dalton has zero touchdowns against four picks. Remember, if Dalton had hit A.J. Green in Houston last year, Green would still be running and Cincy would have won.If (when) the Chargers top the Bengals, the Bolts will face Denver in the divisional round." redsbengalsbucks
Dalton is due for his break-out game in the play-offs. I think he puts recent history to bed with a lights out performance.
cincyhokie
I will be completely shocked if the Bengals come out and lay an egg for this game. That's what it will take for them to lose.
