skyline
There was minimal forcing it to AJ today.Yep, he spread the ball around quite well. Other than the black hole our offense (ENTIRE offense, not just Andy) fell into during the 2nd quarter, they played quite well. And credit them for resiliency. They were down 16 points and responded with two clutch TD drives. Far better than what I expected, which was to see them lay down and string together a bunch of miserable 3 and outs while the team limped into week 4 with a losing record. HoosierCat
There was minimal forcing it to AJ today. On that note I saw this tidbit buried in a piece on the Bears' takeaways today:Both of Tillman's picks came against Pro Bowl wideout A.J. Green. A member of a front office in the AFC told me that at crunch time Dalton and Green continue to run the same routes with the same "tells" that most opponents have begun to pick up on.The more experience and confidence Dalton gets with his other receivers and TEs, the better this offense is going to get. volcom69
Which is why he can not force it to AJ anymore. AJ might get frustrated, but that's just how it has to be, make it easy and throw it to the open guy. Give what the defense gives you and the guys do there thing. jjakq27
In this week's Sports Illustrated, the article about Texas-born NFL QBs mentions that Greg McElroy's HS team defeated Andy D. in the Texas State Championship. And not McElroy is the practice squad QB and Dalton is the starter here.
HoosierCat
So...for those keeping count:Mark Sanchez didn't even make it out of the gate.Brandon Weeden was benched for Hoyer.Jacksonville seems to be flipping a coin between Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne on a weekly basis.Josh Freeman just lost the starting job in Tampa to a rookie named Mike Glennon. And now Matt Cassell gets the call over Christian Ponder for the Vikes.I'm not sure I remember a year when there have been so many QB changes so soon. Makes me all the more grateful for Dalton, warts and all.
