Interesting read on the division's early struggles this season. I have to agree, the north isn't looking too peppy so far.

These things go in cycles. It was only two yrs ago that three playoff teams came from this division. We're due for an easy ride. I'm not apologizing

Things might not look the best at the moment, but as mentioned, things can and do change.

They can call it whatever they like, but someone from the division is going to the playoffs.

If it's our Bengals, I won't really give a crap what someone else thinks about it.

Well AFCN has fallen I'm not worried about cinci or Dalton atm,The guy wants point out Payton having as many TD's as our division for godsakes he threw 7 in one game...

Dalton only had 1 TD this week but it was vs a steelers defense who always puts up a fight...I look for Daltons numbers to start to grow quite abit as they use their rookies more.

Ya look at the NFC west went from worst division ever to being one of the best in the nfl.

What AFC team that doesnt have Manning as a QB has looked good so far? I cant think of one that stands out above the rest for both games.

Nail --> head. I was thinking exactly this listening to Ijit & Ijit driving in this a.m. If Denver is the consensus No. 1 team in the AFC, who's No. 2?

New England? They barely scraped by the Jets and Bills.

Baltimore? They got lit up like a Christmas tree opening night and then barely beat the Clowns at home.

Pittsburgh? Please.

Cincy? No, not yet.

Are we really ready to crown KC or Miami heir apparent?

I guess it would have to be Houston, but they haven't been dominating either.

Cleveland Brown raise the white flag 2 games into the season, trade Trent Richardson to Colts.

Lol yep I think so. I'm just wondering how the colts got a lot better. I like Trent, but has really done nothing special for a 1st round pick. Either way I'm just trying to figure out who got the better deal? Browns stock piling picks for the future, colts trying to find a running game.

Take a look at the so-called (by some) toughest division in the NFL, the NFC East. The only team that looks good is Philly and they played Washington in the first game and had to hang on to win against San Diego on Sunday. I don't think our division is a whole lot worse than that. So while many people are alarmed at the state of the Steelers and Ravens, I could care less. I hope they all end up 1-15.

Back in the day the 49ers padded their win totals every season playing the likes of the LA Rams, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons and got chastised for it, yet they won four championships in a nine year period. I'd take a repeat of that, especially if we were the only team above .500 in our division, while doing it.

What is that about? Looks like they want there QB of the future next year.

How many quarterbacks of the future can one team draft? Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, Branden Weeden, Charile Frye, Colt McCoy, Luke McCown??? Wtf?

Indy will certainly finish middle of the pack or better so they must be banking on trading both first rounders for a top spot next year. BTW I think it's safe to say the Jags have No. 1 locked up, lol.

But they're

Oh, I know, jj. I will happily take a division full of powder puffs. It isn't like the Bengals and Browns weren't that forever and the Steelers and Ravens still got credit for being super awesome franchises run by geniuses. But it does strike me as notable just how much of a dumpster fire (thanks, cob!) this division has been so far. And with Cleveland trading Trent, it promises only to get more fiery.

I agree, who gives a s**t how we get to the playoffs and whether or not people consider it an easy schedule? The rest of the division can eat cake, I want a damned Super Bowl!

Nope, I don't care how the other teams in the division do either or if we are the toughest division or not.

If you come from the toughest division and don't make the playoffs, do you somehow feel better about that ??

A season were the Bengals go to the playoffs and The Stains, The Ratbirds and the Stealers all finish under .500, sounds like a wet dream to me.
