I also heard this morning that last years "pep rally" that was for season ticket holders only at the price of $10 a ticket is now free for all.

That's a step in the right direction. Maybe all the cool fan stuff the Reds do for nothing is sinking in for the Bengals.

What's the most expensive home game this season? So far, it appears to be Bengals v. Packers.

Bengals-Packers ticket prices soar on secondary market

Seats for the Bengals game against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 22 at Paul Brown Stadium are going for an average of $168 apiece.

Cincinnati Bengals training camp kicks off in eight days. That means even though it’s the middle of summer, the time to buy tickets is rapidly approaching.

And they’re not cheap if you’re looking on the secondary market. Seats for the Bengals game against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 22 at Paul Brown Stadium are going for an average of $168 apiece, according to a study of NFL ticket prices by Vivid Seats, a Chicago-based company that sells tickets on the secondary market after teams have already sold them.

That’s the priciest Bengals home game this season. But thrifty fans can take heart. Vivid Seats does list Bengals-Packers tickets as cheap as $64 for two seats at the top of the stadium.

The Bengals home opener on Sept. 16, a Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, is just behind the Packers game with tickets averaging $157 each, according to Vivid Seats.

On the “bargain” end of things, tickets for the New York Jets game in Cincinnati on Oct. 27 average just $107. Surprisingly, seats for the Cleveland Browns game here on Nov. 17 average just $112 each, making it the second-cheapest Bengals home game.

Bear in mind that Bengals single-game tickets are still available through the team, too.

But Bengals fans have little reason to complain. Bengals tickets on the secondary market average $134 each right now, according to Vivid Seats’ research. That’s the 26th-highest in the 32-team NFL. It’s well below the league average of $203.75 and a far cry from the New England Patriots’ $431 average ticket price on the secondary market that tops the league.

Incidentally, Chicago Bears tickets rank second in the NFL, at $416. And the Bengals game in Chicago, just a five-hour drive away, ranks as the 12th-most expensive game in the NFL at this point. Tickets to that game – the Bengals’ season opener on Sept. 8 – average $417 on Vivid Seats.

In the more immediate future, the Bengals begin training camp on July 25 with a pep rally at Paul Brown Stadium. Admission to that event is free, so you can save your money for game tickets.

I think you can see why I've given up on going to the opener... More links at the link:
