ArmyBengal
The Reds start off a 4 game series at the Phillies tonight.Leake, Bailey, Arroyo, and Cueto will be pitching for the Reds.Philly is not a good home team, but have won their last 2 games. The Hamels, Cueto matchup should be fun to watch. We have a 6.5 game lead on the Pirates (playing the Padres) and a 8.5 lead on the Cards (night off before Astros).GO REDS !!! Too bad the Cardinals get the day off and then have the luxury of facing the Astros in St. Louis. It would have been nice to see them suffer from a hangover due to that 19 inning loss - but the schedule really works in their favor in that regard. ArmyBengal
Hopefully the Reds can get the win and another half game on the Cards tonight !!!Agree that the schedule worked in their favor though.
Stripes
Very frustrating for the Reds to put up 5 runs on Roy Halladay and still be losing because Leake is having one of those games.
BengalszoneBilly
Looks like neither team can hold the lead tonight.
volcom69
Haliday has lost it, my Phillies have no bullpen to speak of, and there GM has ruined this team for now. They have way to much money tied up in starting piching, and a closer who rarely gets a chance to win games. The Philles expect there starters to pitch 8 innings every game, and they cant, but they deceided to never address the bullpen. They knew what was wrong with this team last year, and never fixed there problems. They should have payed Madsion to stay and close, instead of waisting 50 million dollars on a closer. Ok thanks for my Philles rant for the night, and there sucky GM :frustrated:
ArmyBengal
Leake has to find a way to be more consistent.5-3 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th and he gets blown up.I got home in time to see Ondrusek give up another 2 runs. Nice.Games like this happen from time to time and I can't say as i'm worried, but another chance to pick up a half game on a team is wasted. For those more concerned about the Cardinals, in the past 4 days, the Reds have lost a game to them in the standings on nights they didn't even play.Oh well, come back strong tonight and set the tone for the coming series against the Cardinals. Now it's an 8 game lead.

You can't look at it like that. The Cardinals didn't gain a game on the Reds in the actual standings over the last 4 days. In fact, the Reds are the ones who gained a game in the actual standings over the Cardinals. The Reds went 3-2 in the last 4 days... but the Cardinals went 1-2. What the Cardinals did in the same timespan does matter. So even though the Reds managed to lose 2 games - they still grew their lead. Would it have been nice to gain 2 games instead of 1? Sure... but the Reds didn't actually lose any ground this weekend.

Sure...And that's all I was saying. They had the opportunity to gain two games instead of one.Maybe I said it poorly. I digress...
Stripes
Through all of my griping about the lineup this season, I have overlooked one fantastic option (that Dusty will definitely never bother trying):HIT HANIGAN SECOND
BengalszoneBilly
Well, well, well. The bats finally woke up. Reds up 2-1.
ArmyBengal
Marshall gives up a 2 run double and it's tied at 3 now.
BengalszoneBilly
The pitching has realy sucked the past two days. Can't hold a single damn lead!
ArmyBengal
At least I won't have to worry about seeing Ondrusek suck again. He was sent down to the minors today.Marshall gets out of the inning. Tied 3-3.
ArmyBengal
With Mesoraco starting his suspension that was reduced from 3 games to 2, they called up Navarro and sent down Ondrusek. The question I have is, will they bring back Ondrusek or maybe see Hoover who is 4-0 with a 1.25 ERA ??Just to bring all up to speed.
