Wraith
We expect to get most of our QB Pressure from the front 4 in a 43 defence so it should not be surprising to have low sack totals out of our LBs.I thought Maualuga was having a great season until he got hurt, when he came back he was a shell of his former play. Thomas Howard had a terrific season but will be pushed by Rivers if he is healthy. Lawson had some great games and some games he disappeared, frankly with the return of Muck and Moch and with a hopefully healthy Rivers, provided we bring back Lawson I am comfortable with our LB play. ArmyBengal
Moch is the one LB I will admit to being curious about his play...This group is really up in the air.
bwillycuse
It is widely believed that the Redskins will outbid the Browns for RGIII.Good. I don't want to see RGIII in a Browns uniform.I am not a Browns hater and want them to be successful only if it doesn't hinder the Bengals. (I've lived in Cleveland for 12 years). My dream is that our two teams are on top while the Steelers and the Ravens languish. With that said, I think the Browns NEED to go get RG3 just to get this town excited again. They are easily the most boring team to watch on Sundays and unfortunately, they never get blacked out. Redskins will go hard after Manning as well. St Louis is hoping against that just as much as the Browns are rooting for it. With Redskins out of the picture, the Browns wouldn't have to give up as much. Or dare St Louis to take him. I really cant wait until the draft. 50 something days? Too long.
derekshank
Rivers may be done for good. This whole "degenerative" wrist thing doesn't sound good. I think they've moved on with Howard.I would like them to bring back Lawson. He was pretty damn solid, even if he only played 1st and 2nd down.Maualuga did look like he found his home early last year prior to the ankle injury... but he's now had two off-the-field issues - and it seems like he has a relatively low ceiling. Unfortunately, ILB is remarkably weak in this draft. Hightower is an average athlete, Kuechly is one of the most overrated prospects in the entire draft, and Burfict has major red flags. There are some decent ILBs available in FA this year... but I'm betting the Bengals are sticking it out with Rey. HoosierCat
What Derek said. I'm not counting on Rivers either and I'm not sure that Thomas isn't better anyhow. And yeah, they are probably stuck with Rey. Hopefully he bounces back this season. However, I would not at all be surprised to see the Bengals draft Burfict if he drops as far (like round 5+) as some now think he might. derekshank
I would not at all be surprised to see the Bengals draft Burfict if he drops as far (like round 5+) as some now think he might.Agreed. He's out of control on the field, and is apparently a lockerroom problem as well. Not to mention that he showed up to the combine out of shape. It seems like he's simply not a professional. All that said... I'd be ok with the Bengals taking a flyer on him in the 5th round because of the potential that is there. What I really worry about is the Ravens taking him. Ray Lewis could probably mold that guy into a star that the Bengals would have to deal with for the next decade. ArmyBengal
Rivers may be done for good. This whole "degenerative" wrist thing doesn't sound good.Yep, anytime you hear the word "degenerative", you know it can't be good and then we get this this from rotoworld on Reedy.Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer refers to WLB Keith Rivers' 2011 wrist injury as "degenerative."Rivers never did play in 2011 after undergoing offseason wrist surgery. A "degenerative" condition means it may not get better, and could potentially even get worse. We'd previously speculated Rivers might be on the trade block entering the last year of his rookie deal, but he might not be able to pass physicals. The former first-round pick has an uncertain football future./>http://rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4728/keith-rivers
