HoosierCat Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Bengals would be dumb not to look at Carr or Finnigan! They need cb and they need one bad they will have to payWith $40 million wrapped up in Hall I don't see them spending big at the position. So keep your fingers crossed that Leon comes back healthy.EDIT: What derek said, too. Quote
volcom69 Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 I wonder what mid range cb will be out there maybe a guy like Carlos Rodgers or someone similar Quote
ArmyBengal Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 The Chiefs are in the same situation the Bengals are. A pot of cash to spend. They still have to deal with Bowe on the other side of the ball as well. Quote
Spor_tees Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 I wonder what mid range cb will be out there maybe a guy like Carlos Rodgers or someone similarIn my opinion Carlos Rodgers is one of the best ones out there. He's big and physical, especially good at ripping the ball out of a receiver's hands. If you want a second tier CB, hello Adam Jones and Kelly Jennings. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 I didn't understand why the Bengals didn't look more at Rodgers, as I thought he really needed a change of scenery. Oh well...I prefer to say goodbye Adam Jones if we have to pick. Quote

That report didn't take into account playing time and inventive escalators. Ahead of the Routt signing, the actual number was $37 million Routt probably costs $2-3 million vs. the cap at least and franchising Bowe will cost another $9 million. So they're really down in the mid-20-millions and beyond Bowe and Carr have another 16 guys going in FA (only one of whom is an RFA).So no surprise I guess that they didn't throw sacks of money at Carr. ArmyBengal Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Yeah, was looking further at that and it appears with the signing that Carr will be allowed to hit the market and Bowe will get the tag.The WR FA market will dry up fast or require overspending... Quote
Sea Ray Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 The Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings were among the other teams considering Routt, whose specialty is press, man-to-man defense. He was scheduled to make $5 million had he stayed with the Raiders. 1) Why weren't we listed as a team considering him?2) Why would the Raiders cut him if they only owed him $5mill for this yr? Do they think he's not even worth that? Quote

The Raiders are $10 million over the cap. They had to make some cuts somewhere. Quote

I just dont see Routt being worth this cash. Quote
