COB
Speaking of the run game, Trent Richardson wont run drills at the combine. Just had a "minor" knee scope./>http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8271f922/article/richardson-has-knee-injury-wont-do-onfield-drillsI'm just not on the Trent Richardson bandwagon. There is something about him that looks really average to me. He may have benefitted from being on an incredible team, and in a year when there were no other outstanding running backs. He just doesn't look like he's a level above most NFL running backs. Think about how McFadden looked in college, about how Ced looked in college, about how Adrian Peterson looked in college. Richardson isn't in that league, which puts him in the league with all the other good backs. Go get Michael Bush, if this knee thing makes Richardson fall please please don't draft him. Half the hype around this guy is based on youtube videos of him in the weight room.

I'm hesitant to draft any RB in the first rd and Richardson doesn't really tempt me to break that but let's see how the draft unfolds and who's there and who's gone. There's a lot more uncertainty this year for us as opposed to where we usually draft...
HoosierCat
I am fine with drafting Trent if he falls. I am not interested in talk of moving up to get him.

derekshank
Half the hype around this guy is based on youtube videos of him in the weight room.I strongly disagree. Yes, he is a workout warrior, and that adds to his mystique... but that doesn't mean his hype is unwarranted. He is an amazing talent.I know you can go to YouTube and watch any player's highlights that will make them look good... but I think illustrates what makes Richardson truly special. Each run shows a different aspect of his game. In the first run he hits the hole with authority, and has break-away speed... and you can't teach speed (side note: his side/speed ratio is redonkulous). The second run shows off his vision and elusiveness... both of which are at elite levels. The third run shows that he is just an absolute nightmare to tackle. Add in the fact that he is a willing pass-blocker and a good receiver - and you have yourself a once in a decade prospect.I'm guessing you are basing your opinion on him mostly on his two games against LSU. But go back and watch again. He was the best player on the field. Alabama's offensive line is nothing special, and Richardson did most of the heavy lifting (He accounted for 276 yards in the two games... more than 40% of the entire offense's output). LSU's defense was significantly more talented than Alabama's offense... and he was still the primary difference maker in both games.
ArmyBengal
Actually I need to revise my last post. While I am not in favor of giving up a first to move up and grab Richardson, if he were to drop far enough where it wouldn't cost us the other first, I would give it further consideration. derekshank
As much as I love Richardson... I've come to terms with the fact that the Bengals are not likely to get him. In fact, in the present situation, I'd prefer to stand pat and see who falls to the Bengals. That said, FA may change my preference. If the Bengals fill some of the key needs in FA (namely CB, OG, and WR), I'd be ecstatic to see them package the #17 and #53 picks to move up to #10 and grab Richardson if he's still there.
