As for me, I got the nickname from a coach during practice after I had cheated inside on a pass rush drill, prompting him to loudly scream for all to hear that he didn't care if I lined up wrong as long as I kept playing as if my hair were on fire. So again, it's football related and that probably explains why you hadn't heard it. Just like you dont understand how I got the name TackHammer....it may be a little to nuanced for you.
