No surprise about Fui and Ghee. Never lived up to expectations. Ghee is a real disappointment, being hurt and ineffective. DeQuinn Evans is a mild surprise, thought he'd played his way on the team.

Ravens cut Tavares Gooden LB. He is a good player, wonder if he's hurt.

If the Giants cut David Carr, I'd consider him as a 3rd (or even back-up) to Dalton. He has looked very good with the Giants this pre-season.

Olshansky will be cut by the Cowboys, so if they can gethim at a cut rate, he is still an effective end in a 3-4, at least better than Geathers.

Andre Hawkins..... headed to practice squad.

No surprises or complaints yet. As noted, MJG sucked in entirely predictable ways, and almost all of the other cuts announced are eligble for practice squad duty. The actual tough choices haven't been made yet.

Frankly, the release of names in dribs and drabs is killing me. I feel like I'm Vakapuna or Dee Dee waiting by the phone.

Gotta calm down. Maybe I'll go clean my garage or something.

Who will be the surprise cut?

Could it be a guy like Coffman, which is an admittance that he was a miss? Or perhaps they do some salary cap clearance in dumping Geathers? He's the highest salaried player on the team right now (not Carson).

RB Joe McKnight cut by the Jets and UC product Gilyard cut by the Rams. Also Tommie Harris cut by the Colts. That's a surprise.

Edit: It was WR Scotty McKnight not RB Joe McKnight :lmao:

Same here. I'm cleaning the basement.

Brandon Meriweather, anyone?

I'd take him over a guy like Rico Murray or Jeromy Miles. I might even take him over Gibril Wilson.

What do you think of guys like John McCargo (I believe HoF was high on him prior to the draft a few years ago) or Damoine Lewis. Do you think these guys would be better to have than say Shirley if he makes the team?

Reedy posted the final cutdown on Roster Moves

Put on IR: LB Roddrick Muckelroy (Achilles) and TE Bo Scaife (neck)

Put on PuP (Misses first 6 games): CB Adam Jones (neck/PUP) and LB Keith Rivers (wrist/non-football injury)

Veterans that were released: DE Victor Adeyanju, G Max Jean-Gilles, CB Jonathan Wade

Others that were waived that might show back up on the Practice Squad: FB Fui Vakapuna, CB Brandon Ghee, QB Dan LeFevour, CB Rico Murray, TE John Nalbone, DT Jason Shirley, FB James Develin, CB David Pender, DE James Ruffin, WR Calvin Russell, DT Cornell Banks, LB DeQuin Evans, HB Jay Finley, HB John Griffin, WR Andrew Hawkins, CB Korey Lindsey, OT Matthew O’Donnell, G Chris Riley, K Thomas Weber

I'm really surprised that Miles beat out Rico Murray but that might be more because the coaches fell in love with his upside more than what he did on the field. I definitely look for the Bengals to make more waiver wire moves to improve the team. I see them picking up an OL and a guy on the DL.

Otis Hudson's spot can definitely be upgraded. I also think Vincent Rey has to be walking a fine line. In fact I am really surprised they kept Rey over Evans. Evans looked a lot faster on the field.

Yep Guard has to be the number thing right now on there radar.

Maybe another DE or DT, looks like Shirley didnt make it after all, i guess not after that Sims show the other night, wow Sims is a beast

Damoine Lewis or Thommie Harris would fit that bill.
