HoosierCat Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 All I wanted out of this series was 1. Last game is gravy if the can get it. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 I've been saying that all along. Just give me one. It gets us through the series, prevents a damaging sweep, and keeps the Cards at a comfortable distance. If you had told me at the beginning of the year we would be sitting 8 games ahead of the Cards in first place in September, I would have laughed at you. Sure I'll take 1 of 3 and keep smiling !!!GO REDS !!! Quote
Stripes Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Carpenter vs. Bailey tonight. Could get ugly. Quote
Stripes Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 2-0 Reds in 5th after a Cabrera two-run double. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 2-0 Reds in 5th after a Cabrera two-run double.HELL YEAH!! Here we go! Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Damn. Cardinals trying to answer right back! Quote
Stripes Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Jay doubles, and the Reds intentionally walk Pujols with two outs. Holliday homers, 4-2 Cardinals. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Crap. Cards up 4-2... Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Bailey is done. Get him out of there! Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Oh well. We played three against St. Louis, and they only gained a single game in the standings. Could have been better, but I'll take it. Quote
jjakq27 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Bailey is done. Get him out of there!I wouldn't be surprised if he is gone before spring training. I am not sure what he gives them at this point.. With all of the young pitchers in their system I could see them moving him for some OF help or maybe another relief pitcher for next season. Quote

I just meant he was done for the day. For the better half of the game he pitched well, but as his pitch count started getting up there, the Cardinals bats started hitting him. He never should have tried to sneak that fastball past Holliday though. Quote
