BengalPimp
I really loved this guy. Bengals defenses used to be known for being soft, especially against the run. Jeanty was a pretty big part of turning that around. He was a beast on short yardage defense.I liked Jeanty as well, but the guy just couldn't stay healthy. kingwilly
Dallas released SS Pat Watkins.I thought this guy was talented and never got a clean shot in Dallas. We need safeties, and this guy could have some familiarity with Zimmmer? No sure if he was there when Watkins was drafted.Could be an interesting option. ArmyBengal
As always, if Zimmer feels fit to bring him in for a look see, I certainly wouldn't complain in the least. Can he be any worse than what we currently are trying to make work as a last option for safety ??Marvin White sure didn't make any friends with Marvin in the Bills game. volcom69
Yea right now this team is to thin at saftey they need to look at there options. Pat Watkins would work for me, but they need to address something.

jjakq27
I just read that Maurice Purify has a one game suspension coming for personal conduct issues. That can't be helping his chances.

ArmyBengal
While Purify has developed and always given great effort, I simply never viewed him as good enough to crack this roster.
HairOnFire
While Purify has developed and always given great effort, I simply never viewed him as good enough to crack this roster. Not as a WR and not as a special teamer either. Or rather, he's worthy as a special teamer but he isn't needed anymore....and there's a ton of competition for so-called extra roster spots. Speaking of which.....I noted the coaching staff admits they've considered the idea of not carrying a true FB on the roster, and determined it's a very doable thing. Yeah, they didn't say they'd do it, but I've been pimping that one for awhile now, mostly because Vakapuna! hasn't answered the bell, but also because of the things it allows you to do at other positions. (Too many to mention.)

They are so thin at this postion so i think they will bring in someone.I dont think after the Bills game they were to impressed with any of the Safties
TJJackson
at this late point, I think it'd be best to wait for final cuts and pick up a veteran safety who has played in this kind of defense and can pick it up quicklyAt the very very least - don't replace one injured guy with another injured guy - Watkins was released in part due to injuries during the preseason. Gimme a solid unspectacular DURABLE guy (preferably one that plays special teams too) over a beat up star
Walrus
Seems like people are leaning towards keeping Nugent based on his limited time playing and despite his gimpy leg. Question is: do you think they might take a look at a more established (Graham-like) guy like Kris Brown?
membengal
Kris Brown missed a s**t-ton of field goals late to cost Houston games and ulitimately the playoffs last year.No thank you.
Walrus
Kris Brown missed a s**t-ton of field goals late to cost Houston games and ulitimately the playoffs last year.No thank you.I'm not necessarily in favor of signing Brown, mind you, but I see it as an option. Over 12 years he's never missed a game, he's had an excellent career (77.3% FG), last season's misses notwithstanding. Apparently he hasn't missed a kick yet in the preseason. Anyways, if not Kris Brown, Billy Cundiff may turn out to be another veteran option. It's something I hope they consider since I'm not 100% sold on Nuge or Raynor. derekshank
My favorite thing about Nugent? FG range is closer to the 40 yardline... where with Graham it had to be inside the 30 to have a chance.

That a kicker like Nugent gives you better options when the clock is running out is a given. Yet to be determined is if Lewis aggressively attempts more FGA's from distance under normal game conditions. Because the kicking no-mans land between a punt that won't net very much and a FGA that is hopelessly out of range COULD get a bit smaller. volcom69
I heard that the Raiders might trade/cut Mike Huff! I dont follow the Raiders much, but i know he was a high saftey coming out in the draft. I wouldnt mind the Bengals taking a look at him, he is still a young saftey who could help the team, and take over for one of the guys if needed.
