ct_bengal
dont kno if this is the right section or not, im nearly done programming my football prediction machine, wanted some input from those willing as to a scoring system (ie a passing touchdown for every 100 yds thrown or something of that nature) i have one in place rite now i just wanted to see if any one had any good ideas. the machine is based off 2009 season stats and ofcourse im going to post the bengals "predicted" season after all is said and done which should be a day or two. i was looking at run offense vs run d. stuff like that, i appreciate any ideas

ct_bengal
i got it to go jus fine tuning it, i got the point system to be based of points scored per game and points allowed, but i got to fix a line of code still

If so, I want in on this!haha yep yep thats why i chose this for my final project, im tinkering with it til i have accurate results for the 2009 season. i have it so i can update it after each weeks stats come out, so theorectically the predictions will be more accurate as the season plays out. but for the first 3 or four weeks will probly be a bit off if teams change alot statiscally. i wrote it in java if i can find a way ill link it up here if ur interested in using it
ct_bengal
ok here is what would happen to the bengals (approxiamtely) if the 2009 bengals played the 2010 sched (and also all teams for that matter are based off of 2009, it does not take into account any projected upgrades from the 2010 offseason). I am a bengals fan so dont rip my balls of if u dont like the computers projections.Bengals 19 at Patriots 29Ravens 29 at Bengals 24Bengals 25 at Panthers 22Bengals 21 at Browns 18Buccaneers 12 at Bengals 20Bengals 17 at Falcons 25Dolphins 25 at Bengals 20Steelers 26 at Bengals 21Bengals 19 at Colts 29Bills 14 at Bengals 23Bengals 22 at Jets 24Saints 31 at Bengals 23Bengals 18 at Steelers 29Bengals 21 at Browns 15Chargers 28 at Bengals 21Bengals 26 at Ravens 27so according the gambler machine the bengals would go 5-11, i do have weather buttons but i chose not to use so these games would be under ideal conditions. homefield did play a part, i also used a random turnover point machine that determines each teams own turnover percentage and a kick off return percentage as well. i still want to do something with the average number of points off of turnovers so its still a work in progress.the program in my eyes is much rather for spread decisions over anything else. for example if vegas gives +3 to bengals on the final game then ill take it based on the simulation. these games are all pretty close winnable games in my eyes so i cant wait to see how the new stats look wen the 2010 season starts.there are 8 games that are 1 possession here (8 points or less), 4 games decided by 6 points or less, 3 games decided by 3 points or lessso they would need some luck to pull out 9-10 wins based off of this prediction machinedont forget this is going off of the 2009 season not a projection of 2010
