Kazkal
Our middle/underneath options would now include: Leonard, Gresham, Coffman, Shipley, Caldwell, and CosbyWhat about Bernard? What about Matt Jones? Middle, underneath.... What about Vakapuna? The Bengals may miss Jeremi Johnson's blocking at times, but years ago he ate himself out of any receiving or running role he once had, and the FB position morphed into yet another skill position that didn't need to be defended. Switching to Vakapuna could change that.Yup it was one of the things I liked about Puna was a very experienced back and give it time the blocking skills would come. Jeremi cost us a couple receiving TDs and a handful of first downs last season. I remember one time late last season (can't remember who we were playing) that we went to pass on a third and one or two and Jeremi was completely wide open on a short route that would have got the first down, but Carson didn't even think about throwing his way and threw a deep pass that ended up in the dirt. You could tell that Carson had lost all faith in Jeremi's receiving skills.A fullback with some hands will be a welcome addition. You have to get excited when you look at all of the improvements to the passing game. - Another deep threat in Bryant- Much improved depth at the WR position- When you think about it we are pretty much getting two new receiving threats at tight end in Gresham and Coffman, which will both be match-up nightmares- Roland, the weakest spot in terms of pass blocking on the O-line is getting replaced by a top 10 draft pick in Smith- A fullback that can catch- Carson recovering from the hand injury and getting the play-action pass back, which might actually have more impact than anything on the listThis is probably the first time I started drinking the kool-aid before training camp even started. For once, it feels pretty damn good to be a Bengals fan, and I can't wait for the season to start.
HairOnFire
You said Puna... Two things. First, I think it's much more fun to use th full Vakapuna rather than a shortened version. Second, I find it helpful to add an exclamation mark after every mention of his name. For example, Vakapuna!

derekshank
Here are a couple quotes made about Matt Jones' workout:“It was one of the worst workouts I have ever seen. I don’t care how fast his 40 time is or was, he’s a slow-twitch athlete.”“He obviously has great size, but not even that is much of an advantage when you don’t move very fast. He’s not really the solution to what we need.”Why anyone thinks he's going to make the team is beyond me... let alone actually be a contributer.Even if all that is true, the guy (if 08 form) is a first down machine and his size helps him emmensely. He'll make this squad!Care to make a wager?Absolutely!,.. Stakes?.. ill let you choose your fate Sure. I don't usually engage in betting, but I view this as free money...How about winner chooses what jersey he wants from this site.I'll have the retro Munoz jersey on page 2.Thanks!Alright sir, you have a bet(handshake),.. i'll take the cedric benson jersey... Bump I'm still a big fan of this jersey., but they look to be sold out, so I'll settle for this one. They tend to run a little big... so a L will do fine.TJ... I'll be happy to let you borrow it if you want, since you have been the biggest backer of Cosby from day 1.

derekshank
By the way tdlong... I'm not trying to rub it in or anything. But I disagreed with you from the beginning about Matt Jones and I don't think he's a good player.I know you continue to disagree on that point, but a deal is a deal, right? Also,Told you so! (So maybe I'm rubbing it in a little).
