NJ29
Why trade up to get Mays, he should be there when we pickI'd rather sit tight where we're at, and if Mays doesn't fall, I think we should take Chad Jones. It doesn't make a lot of sense to burn a third rounder when that guy could end up turning into a big player for us.

kurgan74
I believe Carlos Dunlap will fall to the bengals at 54. to get mays, it may cost them a 3rd o 4ththis year to move up.
Kazkal
Wasn't Dhani supposed be part of day 1 draft? was it day 2?
BengalPimp
Why trade up to get Mays, he should be there when we pickEncase he isn't or Seahawks decide to get 2 new safetys and jump us Bengals pick at #54. Mays was already passed over 32 times. NO WAY IN HELL he lasts another 22 picks. Barring another team trading up, I think he'll be gone at #37 to Philly. No way Eagles, Raiders, 49ers pass on him. If for some reason he does get by those 3, New England has 2 picks before us (#44 & #47) and I could see them grabbing Mays to play opposite Brandon Meriweather. I'm sure Belichick is already thinking of ways to use him. They did use a 2nd Rd pick on Pat Chung last year, but he couldn't beat out James Sanders? or Brandon McGowan?Again, Mays WILL NOT be there at #54. Also, its not "burning or wasting a 3rd" if the guy turns out to be the type of player most of us think he will be. Who's to say that 3rd Rd pick would amount to anything? I'll take Quality over Quantity ANY DAY, especially with the roster we already have. We don't need 8 players. I'll be extremely happy with 3 or 4 good ones. Bengals44
Mock from here on out:1) Jermaine Gresham TE2) Nate Allen S3) John Jerry G3) Daniel Teo’Neshiem DE/OLB4a) Awkasi Owusu-Ansah CB/KR 4b) Corey Peters DT5) AJ Edds OLB6) Marcus Easley/Scott Long WR7) John Connor FBI like Conner in the 6th or 7th (hell, I wouldn't even mind it in the 5th), that dude crushes people, is sound fundamentally and can catch a bit out of the backfield... Barring injury, FB would be set for the next 8 years...
Kazkal
Well I think Eagles could go after Nate Allen instead being that they want more coverage guy,But I don't see Mays lasting which just his measurable's.
Kazkal
sure John Conner will be available isn't he top rated fullback?
Bengals44
sure John Conner will be available isn't he top rated fullback? On many boards yes (Kiper has him first I know), I have seen other sites that have him 2 or 3... All I know, is the dude can block his butt off...
wpeldios
I am warming up to the Cody-Peko combo at DT. Mays is still the guy I Covet though. And I have been on the Jon Conner fan club for a while now, so It seems to be a popular choice.
redsbengalsbucks
I think if Toby Gerhardt falls to us in the second it would be hard to pass up.
ArmyBengal
I think if Toby Gerhardt falls to us in the second it would be hard to pass up.Not trying to be smart, but that wouldn't be hard for me to pass on. Not because I don't like him, but I just don't like the spot, when there are other players out there that I view as making an impact sooner rather than later. Well, within the next 3-5 picks...Ya Eagles even though I think go Nate & the Raiders to me are two very likely teams...just afraid team will take him as a linebacker so may be more teams interested... I'll tell you, the guy is a heck of a player when he's on the field (and I'm not just saying that because he played at my Oregon..Go Ducks!). But still, I wouldn't take him over Mays....WOW !
