Dancing with the Ocho

But wait Greg, it's everyone's favorite player. You know, the one that's doing everything he can to focus and get ready for the upcoming season ??

If there were cameras on other Bengals/NFL players, I'm sure the same complaint would be made. We can't expect these guys to live/breathe football every moment of their lives. Everyone has hobbies that keep them occupied outside of work. Chad's are just more public than those of the other players.

Marvin gave it the okay, and that's enough for me.

I've never seen it before... and I'm not about to start watching it now.

I'm able to cheer for Chad because of the jersey he wears... but I don't like him and I still wish he played for someone else's team. For that reason I don't spend a single moment of my day attempting to be entertained by any of his non-football endeavors.

I guess this is pretty much where it falls for me as well. Dhani Jones spent his offseason doing a show for the travel channel and there was hardly a single panty wadded about that. Likewise, there was little media interest and it wasn't an inherently embarrassing endeavor, but it was still a non-football interest. I don't blame Chad for wanting attention or making as much of his tv personality as he can while he's still playing in the NFL. I can't say I agree with his choice of projects, but whatever. I tend to believe that some break from football is probably a good thing for most players if it doesn't involve blowing blunts and clubbing like hell for 2 months. If you're just embarrassed about Chad, that's fair, but don't act like he needs to be running routes right now anyway. I'm pretty sure Carson Palmer is hanging out in his backyard eating BBQ right now rather than throwing 1000 passes a day through a tire anyway.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and just for the record, I won't be watching this one.

Good point about Dhani.

With a lot of players doing dangerous off-season stuff like motorcycle racing, raping women, etc. so what if Chad wants to dance? I've never watched that show, and didn't watch it last night either, but did found myself googling it to see his performance. Stupid me, I didn't look here first, because Billy was nice enough to post it here. Thx.

I've said this before, but honestly, how long do you think he'll be doing this? I give it a month/ month and a half....Then it's back to football with plenty of time before the season starts.

Let's not read too much into this whole thing. I said it was a dark day that a DWTS thread would pop up on our forum. Not because it's Fredo, or TO, or whomever, although it being Fredo gives me more incentive to ignore the show. It just seems like some form of 'man-law' is violated that a DWTS thread would ever pop up on ANY football forum, and if there is no such man-law, by god there should be.

Don't hate the show! If it's your wife's turn to pick what's on the teevee, would you rather watch yet more HGTV, or half-nekkid wimmen?

There are some outrageously hot women on that show wearing next to nothing. Works for me.

I can certainly appreciate the points of your debate. Very finely put.

Howard Stern keeps talking about how his wife was going on and on about Ochocinco. A guy called in and said he has good reason to worry, because his girlfriend used to live next door to Chad and the parade of "women" that came in and out was staggering. Pretty funny.

Yeah, I just dislike Chad, so there you go...

If it were another player that I disliked, I would have the same response.

If it were another player I DID like, I would still question him though.

Does Dhani Jones' show bother you then?

There's no way that any fan can look at what he's doing and not be a little uncomfortable. If he gets hurt playing one of the other sports he does in those countries and puts his season in jeopardy, yeah that's a problem. The difference for me is that we have Dhani's replacement on the roster and wouldn't be quite the hit. For as much as I'm not a fan of Chad personally, I can admit he's a good WR that would hurt the Bengals should he go down. Once we have his replacement in line, yeah, go run around naked and do non-football related crap all you want.

When comparing things from a show standpoint, Dhani's shows are actually pretty interesting. Here's to hoping he doesn't get hurt though...
