Bryant coming to Cinci on Tuesday

TO would either be the best move or the final nail in the Bengals coffin for this group of players/coaches. It all hinges on whether Palmer and Co. can get Owens to buy into the program because if he doesn't he could push 85 over the edge too.

f**k it, get Bryant AND Marshall.

Chad, Caldwell, Bryant and Marshall.

Simpson - no cap/no cap hit.

Keep Quan for punts and as 5th WR.

Seems simple to me.

I'd love that too Willy, but we all know that signing Bryant means that a Marshall deal absolutely will not happen. Bryant had 30-some catches last year, he is, in my opinion, nowhere near being a solution to our receiving woes.

You're seriously going to judge Bryant by his production last year in the worst offense in the league?

Kevin Walter re-signed with Houston. And if I recall correctly, there was a sizeable group on here that slagged the idea of Walter, so, again, what would make people happy?

I would have been fine with Walter myself, but Bryant has skillz. And the non-clown division of WR in free agency is non-existent. Marshall has sizeable baggage, Bryant has baggage, and Terrell Owens' avatar should be a set of luggage, he has so much baggage.

So, if you need a FA receiver, where to turn?

By former clown, I meant Cleveland Brown, that's all. I agree that pretty much all WR's seem to be clowns in the generic, big shoes sense. And by "meh" I merely meant that the thought of it doesn't set my world on fire. I wouldn't hate it, just don't think he's likely to be a substantial upgrade over what Coles brought. The point has been made that Tampa was a terrible offense last year. Fine, the Bengals were a pretty terrible offense last year too. Coles had 43 catches, 514 yards, and 5 TDs. Bryant had 39 catches, 600 yards and 4 TDs. Bryant would be a distant second to Marshall. Even TO went 55 catches for 829 yards and 5 TDs. The offenses behind Bryant, Coles and TO were more alike than different. So, I'm pretty much just at "meh."

Everybody loves to bust on the Bengals for going after second tier FA's while ignoring the big signings. I just see Bryant as closer to second tier than first.

Personally, I'd be happy with Bryant, TO, or Marshall. I don't see Marshall happening, but TO or Bryant would work. They both have big play capability and have been very productive until last season when they were both on very mediocre offenses. Bryant would be better long term, I think. TO has only a year or two left in him. If we sign TO we still need to draft a WR to train this year or hope that Simpson finally gets his head out of his ass and learns to play football.

Apparently Bryant has another visit scheduled with Washington, so it doesn't appear that he'll be signing today.

That is true, but according to PFT, T.O. won't be coming to 'nati until possibly Wednesday: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/09/to-visit-to-cincy-could-be-delayed-by-a-day/

That may dictate whether T.O comes for a visit...

Bryant's agent denies he has visit set up with Redskins

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 9, 2010 5:22 PM ET

In one Tampa paper this morning, Antonio Bryant's agent said his client would visit the Redskins. In another Tampa paper this afternoon, Bryant's agent is denying the report.

Lamont Smith told the St. Petersburg Times that Bryant has a "couple" of visits lined up, but wouldn't identify the teams.

Back in Cincinnati, Bryant has left the Bengals facility after a long visit. He's believed to be Cincinnati's top choice at wide receiver, but the team will meet with Terrell Owens Wednesday.

T.O. is currently on a plane to the 'Nati and very excited about it judging by the amount of exclamation points he's used Tuesday.

Terrell Owens Arrives In Cincinnati

Last Update: 7:56 pm

Veteran standout receiver Terrell Owens is on the ground in Cincinnati tonight. The sometimes controversial player says joining the Bengals is his "first option". At the airport tonight, he told Local 12 Sports Director Brad Johansen he would be anxious to play with Carson Palmer and would look forward to the chance to play with his friend Chad Ochocinco. After leaving the airport Owens said he was going to have dinner with Coach Marvin Lewis and simply see where things go from there.

See what T.O. says he has left in his tank when he discusses his NFL future in Brad Johansen's exclusive television interview tonight on Local 12 News Live at Eleven.

The Bengals are still interviewing other wide receivers. Today free agent Antonio Bryant, formerly of Tampa Bay, paid a visit to Paul Brown Stadium.

I'd be up for adding both T.O and Byrant my guess is they wouldn't but would be great short term fix and then give who ever we have a chance to develop.

Hell yeah, why not? We are already built to win now, my not try to add as much as possible to reach that goal?

Plus I really want TO, seems like he really wants to be here

ArmyBengal's favorite former Cincy QB speaks!

"It's hard not to like T.O. He was fun to play with and no one worked harder," Fitzpatrick said Tuesday. "And let me tell you something. He can still flat out run by people."

"The Bengals and Terrell make a lot of sense," said Fitzpatrick, who started 12 games for the Bengals in '08. "Carson is at his best when he's throwing the long ball and they've had trouble lately getting Chad freed up because he's always double covered. They don't have a deep threat on the other side and Terrell can bring that because he can still run and make big plays. Just knowing Carson, I think they would work well together. I saw Carson's quotes that he's pretty much handled it all and seen it all when it comes to wide receivers and I think he's right. Terrell wants to win. A great competitor and I think he and Chad would feed off each other. The guy was a good teammate."

Bryant, the Tampa Bay wide receiver who celebrates his 29th birthday Tuesday as the first Bengals free-agent visit, could be their last if the two sides reach a multi-year deal. Johnson’s deal that solidifies the defensive tackle spot, as well as a potential big contact for Bryant, could take the Bengals out of the running for even many of their own free agents.

"signing Bryant could make the Benglas out of the running for even many of their own free agents" WTF?

How much are they planning on paying this guy?

After cutting Coles it should be a push(even)

So, thats the choice sign this guy and you cant afford your own free agents?

This is what Mike Brown does every year, he does not get into free agency until there is little to choose from and then he pays the guy with much less talent almost as much as he would have paid for quality.-Thats how we got Coles instead of T.J.!

TJ was offered about the same money from the Bengals as he was the Seahawks. TJ choose to leave and I'm glad he's gone cause last year he showed what an ass he really is.

I know Mike Brown has a bad history here, but last year and so far this year he's been making some good football moves. Why don't you get off his nuts for a while and see how things turn out before you start talking s**t?
