kingwilly
http://www.tmz.com/2010/03/01/dancing-scores-td-with-chad-ochocinco/well, here's to drafting a WR in r1 or r2, as I have lost hope for our key WR.
HairOnFire
Chad probably needs to retire. Because football seems to be getting in the way of the things he's really interested in. That said, I'm sorta amazed by Chad's constant targeting of sub D-List celebrity status. For example, in the last few weeks he's been linked with a video made by a has-been singer, and now he'll apparently square off on the dance floor against the likes of a now Jon-less Kate. Anyways... "I knew a man, Bojangles, who danced a bit."
Dimster28
i dont understand, as u guys know i hate him but i see nothing wrong with him doing dancing with star while offseason.please explain why that cause you lost hope or saying that he need to retire???? HairOnFire
The remark about Chad retiring was a joke. I sometimes do that. As for what's the harm? Well, I guess there is none as long as the player in question is true professional with a long history of having his priorities in order. Just saying... BengalByTheBay
"Put the Bengals down for another non-playoff season." --- Brian Billick's first reaction to the news of Chad being on Dancing With the StarsHeard that too. Sad but true.I suppose it's no surprise that the panties would be well-wadded by this in here, but to suggest that somehow Brian Billick's opinion could possibly matter about anything is kinda ridiculous. When you find yourself trying to support an argument by citing Brian Billick, you haven't got a very strong point.
Stripes
I often like Billick as an analyst, at least more than most of the morons who so often ignore measurables and tangibles in favor of abstract dramatic nonsense. But that's stupid. Really stupid.
HairOnFire
Slag Billick all you want, but he WAS an NFL head coach, he HAS a Super Bowl ring, and I found his immediate reaction to the news very interesting. Especially when you consider how familiar he is with both Marvin and Chad. Anyways.... "....his dog up and died, he up and died. And after thirty years he still grieves. Mister Bojangles. Mister Bojangles. Mister Bojangles, dance."
HairOnFire
Chad-speak...."'l'll sit down and talk to Coach Lewis about it." And if he says no I'll still do it. "I just think I know what I need to get myself ready." I...I...I...myself. "I want to do what I did last year; stay under wraps." If by under wraps you mean being everywhere there's a camera, but no football. "It's been 10 years. Carson and I have been together so long we just need training camp to get (timed up)." The Bengals success rate throwing to Chad last season was the lowest of his career, and nearly identical to the substandard success rate the Bengals had when throwing to Lav Coles, a veteran wideout who was said to have problems learning the offense. Timing? Child, please. "We're a running team now." So expect less from Chad. For just a few examples of what to expect, less receptions, less touchdowns, less effort, less commitment, and less restraint. In fact, the only thing any of us should expect more of from Chad is even more examples of him positioning himself for a life after football. "And now we go live to Miami where Chad Johnson will be eating a bug....for free."
volcom69
Its all about the ocho again. Instead of being with his teamates getting ready for the season, i guess the camaras and media is more important. This is just stupid, very stupid (just my opinon)! BengalByTheBay
I don't disagree that Chad's "please love me" efforts are stupid. I will say that when I heard this my first thought was "of course he wants to be on dancing with the stars." It's so in-character it's ridiculous. He races a horse. He changes his name. He's on NFL Network every 15 minutes. It's more of the same off-season garbage. I think it's stupid too. However, to me it's pretty worthless to get so upset about what Chad does in the off-season when you know it's coming. Of course he's positioning himself for what he perceives to be careers after football. I don't blame him for that. In one form or another, he's been trying to do that for most of his real career. Sure, he's more of a reality show talent than a real talent. He's trailer park, no doubt. Other than that, however, I think that people are interested in him and like to watch him and he plays to that. What are you gonna do? Why beat your head against a wall and say he should only think about football -- not gonna happen. I just give this a big "whatever." Let's face it, I didn't pay any attention to Jason Taylor when he went on the show and I'm not gonna pay any attention to Ocho either. It doesn't surprise me though, and it doesn't enrage me either. I just give this a big "whatever." It's true, I can't stand the prick, and it pisses me off hearing him claim he doesn't need to practice. Because too often over the last two years its look like him and Carson don't practice on the same day. But I'm hardly beating my head against the wall. Aren't I dropping jokes, good and bad, at a copius rate? Can't you hear me loudly singing the song Mister Bojangles with my fingertips? So why do you think I do these things? C'mon, think about it. Obviously these are the things I do to keep me from beating MY head against the wall. A coping method, ehh? Anyways.... "He flew so high....and then he lightly touched down." ArmyBengal
Even posts on this board about Chad can't get me to even think twice anymore.Chad has simply become another player on this team that I hope helps them win.Seriously, I don't care if Chad dances or doesn't dance. I don't care if he goes on talk shows, does music videos, or decides to go streaking through the streets of downtown like Frank the Tank. I look at him like any other player from the standpoint of hoping they are doing what they can to improve themselves and help the team win.If Chad can do this AND still improve, then who cares ?? If he can't (which is the question) I just chalk it up to him being the douche I already think he is. Nothing has changed. I respect what Chad has brought to this team and all of "his" accomplishments as a Bengal. That being said, I wish to hell he would have been traded a couple years back. Just me... I don't care if he goes on talk shows, does music videos, or decides to go streaking through the streets of downtown like Frank the Tank. Fair enough. Now let me ask you a question. Will you care if he skips all of the voluntary OTA's? Obviously, the reason I ask the above is because this would be the 3rd year in a row Chad has blown off those workouts AND as I recall....you were so enraged when TJ started skipping them that you never forgave him. Now here's a question for everyone. Who amongst us was impressed by the level of precise timing shown by Palmer and Chad last season? Anybody? "Mister Bojangles....dance."
