bwillycuse
stats are pretty bad though.31 passing yardszero net passing yards - 3 sacks for 31 yards (but actually two long fumble returns - so like -80 yards passing)has to be some sort of record
cincyhokie
One thing I noticed was the Bengals did not use any unbalanced line formations tonight. I could be wrong but damn it looked very straight forward and "vanilla".The offense began to pick up some of the blitzes into the 2nd and 3rd quarters. B. Scott makes a huge difference for kick returns. Can't make excuses for the lack of tackling or dropped passes.

MARVIN=W'S
The only thing that bothered me was the performance by some of the starters. Lack of tackling by defensive starters, Fanene, Jeanty, Rivers, I saw all of them get run over. Offensively dropped passes by our recievers was concerning as well.I do think however we will absolutely take it to them on Saturday. Who Dey!! wpeldios
Have to watch it again if i can take it to confirm my numbers, but from what I saw here are some numbers.Beangals showed blitz twice, actually called a blitz 0 times. Had 0 stunts on the defensive line. Did not roll coverage a single time.On offense there was 0 misdirection runs, 0 play action passes and 0 double moves. The exact game plan I wanted to see. All week I said I wanted to see a 56-0 game, this was close enough. It sucks losing Pat Simms, but I am confident in this team for next week. For a long period of time, our top tacklers on defense were Ricardo Murray, Hebert, and abdul hodge. See ya'll next week for some actual football after today's laying down.

kingwilly
complete vanilla effort from non-starters.nothing shown that could help NYJ when it counts. For NYJ, this was their SB. They are "in" and that is as far as they will get.We need another DT and another Safety, with Nelson now ailing.

Kazkal
I noticed the Unbalanced line with Roland at TE it simply was not working...heres Hoping we have a Whit-Mathis-Cook-Bobbie-Big Dre Line next week :|Nelson is only ok for pass coverage. I like Hebert instead against a team like the Jets regardless of Nelson's status. Hebert is relentless but weak against the pass, hopefully though crocker is playing next week. JoePong
One thing is for certain after watching this game. Tom Nelson sucks. The first two TDs by the Jets never would have happened if he wasn't in the game. And our offense still sucks, by the way. Something I have been saying all year, that people have been making excueses for constantly. And this defense is nothing special. Not nearly the same unit that started the season. Not Odom, no Peko, no Geathers, no Sims, no Maualuga, no Crocker, no Roy Williams. Maybe a couple of those guys will be back for next week, but I don't think it matters.I have said all year that this team has almost no chance of beating anyone in the playoffs. The only AFC team they beat all year outside their division was the Kansas City Chiefs. That is no accident.I hope to god I am wrong, but maybe after they get knocked out on their home field next week, you guys will finally admit I was right all along. Gee, maybe it really does matter that this offense can't score more than one 16 or 17 points in a game, and is nearly incapable of scoring more than 1 TD per game. I am sure that some dumbasses will still try to argue that it doesn't matter though.

wpeldios
More random numbers I personally looked back at every week 17 the last 20 years. These are games where a team who had clinched the division played a win and your in team, and then played the same team in the playoffs the next week.2009 weak 17Bengals 0 Jets 37, In cincy for Playoffs,Packers 33 Cardinals 7, in arizona for playoffs2004 week 17Indy 14 Denver 33 in playoffs Denver 24 Indy 492001NYJ 24 Raiders 22 in playoffs Jets 24 Raiders 382000Stl 24 Saints 21 in playoffs Stl 28 Saints 311992Buffalo 3 Oilers 27 in playoffs Oilers 38 Buffalo 41At this point, The win and your in teams are 6-0 in the regular season, and the team that won the division are 4-0 in the post season, with the Bengals and cardinals in that situation this year. ct_bengal
the jets run game will be stopped next week, zim will make sure of that. personally i think the jets are crap, the only reason they are in the playoffs is because 2 teams decided not to play in back to back consecutive weeks. The same weeks they happen to look their best. we have the best possible matchup this weekend for a win and if the bengals can't then they don't deserve to be ther anyways. c'mon it's friggin mark sanchez...... BkackNGoldB
Yikes....What happened? Palmer 1 for 11?? Ochocinco hurt? I didn't catch the game. When I saw JamarkASS Russel come in I knew the Steeler's season was over and I haven't turned the tv back on since. Again, good luck next week. Mosty Steeler fans will be pulling for you. semiotter
This game means nothing!!! Ariz. , Indy and Philly all got hammered today. They showed the Jets nothing. They had a few starters out maybe we get Peko back and Crock to. We all knew this was coming Sunday nite. And Saturday will be a Different story. Omg maybe we can get some "Jets" on the "smack" site? Wow that would be cool for a change. Hell I say let them on here so we can have a fun filled week leading up to sat!!! Sweeeeeeeet!!!!!! :-)
TJJackson
Although this was clearly a case of blowing off a meaningless game (albeit I can make an argument for the value of earning the 3rd seed, which was available at the start of the game).....ultimately, I think this club has simply had too many injuries (again) to be taken seriously in the playoffs. They really overachieved this year, and getting 10 wins was really commendable, particularly in the face of all those injuries, starting with the loss of Antwan Odom who was to the point of injury having a superstar type year at DE. The DLine as a whole was/is decimated, and we lost another one last night - Pat SimsI think they can compete for 9-10 wins again next year IF they manage to keep the coaching staff intact, most importantly the DC, and the key players on defense. Not sure how that will play out with the looming loss of the salary cap. I'm not giving up on them, just saying it does not seem likely they will do well in the playoffs because of all the injuriesI will say this - Superbowl or one-and-done, either way - I am really looking forward to next year, and I have not been able to say that for years. KILLER schedule tho.Oh and - Cosby is a verified star PR now, as far as I am concerned. 4th in the NFL for avg PR yardage for returners with at leats 20 returns and he has 40). His PR average matches Cribbs, who we all know about already. When was the last time we had a PR with an average like that? Give him more WR snaps, guys, he's earned it.On a somewhat related note, Bernard is highly ranked as a KR as well
