NJ29
(Who)ushmandzadeh?I'll be the first to admit, I was an enormous fan of T.J. when he was here. I know that a lot of people have lost any fond feelings for him since his comments about the Bengals organization, but I always admired the fire he played with when he was here, and to be truthful, he was my favorite player when he was here. That being said, Caldwell is playing like an animal right now. There is the obvious... catching two game winning TDs in three weeks will go a long way to endearing a fan base. But it's the little things he's doing that are replacing T.J.. He's that guy that's willing to go over the middle and take a shot, except he's much more of a team player than Housh. He's a tough, emotional player without the baggage that Housh carried, and in an emotional season, he's a guy that we've leaned on in clutch times, and I'm glad he's a Bengal. HoTbOy
The U is on the way back, I would say WR's from the U have had more sUcces in the NFL than those from Florida , but glad ACaldwell has made us say TJ who...
ShulaSteakhouse
Always liked the Caldwell draft pick, didn't think they needed Simpson, Caldwell was pretty dynamic for UF, great hands, good speed and agility, smart, and very passionate about football. The exact type of guy you draft in the 3rd or 4th round as a #3 with special teams abilities. It's just counter productive to have too many Chad/Simpson/Henry types on the roster who can only do one thing well. Just look at the Colts and the way they use WR's and RB's, always someone new stepping up.I also said it last week, but the Bengals' DESPERATELY need a TE who can get open AND catch and block. Coffman's absence has been disappointing to say the least.
ArmyBengal
Ok, as I was going through channels this morning (yeah I have the day off) Andre Caldwell was doing a phone interview on Monday Quarterback. When asked what Andre thought about his game winnning catch he said, "It's great for the city and the team". Nice answer...When asked why he's getting targets down the stretch he said, "Chad and Henry get double teamed and I always get single coverage".When asked about the organization coming out of college he said, "I heard they had coaching and personnel issues, but I haven't seen any of that".When asked about Chad he said, "That guy has a work ethic like I've never seen before. He studies and prepares like no other".There was more to it, but it's really hard to not like what we've seen from Caldwell. Game winning TD's against the Steelers and Ravens ??That should call for automatic inclusion in all Bengals fans top 5 favorite players without thought... Just a physical receiver, that comes up clutch, and has his best performances against divisional foes. Somebody that would just drive the Steelers nuts for the next decade. All about the U.With the greatest of respect to CincyHokie, were VaTech to win a national champ - I'd feel nothing. In fact, I'd really rather they didn't. Relishing the goings on in Tallahassee right now too.

What does he offer this team? I think it's time to acknowledge that we took a huge reach on a guy who was simply not that good. I think a well rounded tight end would be something to target pretty early in free agency or in the draft this year. This team isn't very many players away from being really good, and consistently good tight end play would go a long way towards improving the team. Pidge
Jerome Simpson looks very at home in those street clothes. No signs of him approaching anything resembling ready and yeah, only his second yr etc but Jesus. Nothing, not one thing. That's fine out of a 7th rnd project but a 2nd rounder? It's not his fault but the organization dropped the ball in a major way with this pick so far.Maybe he's using those big hands of his to help hand out the towels and gatorade. The only plus is that we didn't get Sweed instead. SupaBran
I know this is off topic but I didn't think it warrented a new thread of its own but I'm watching Monday Night Football and just saw Chad in the Celeb Box with Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union, Marc Anthony and JLo, Naomi Campbell! My question is what the hell is he doing there? We just played yesterday afternoon, I know they get Monday off but this isn't your bye week and this is different with the memorial service for Vikki Zimmer tom., I just don't get it! Pidge
He's from the Miami area. Plus, the first MNF game this season he was interviewed and said he was going to every single one this season. He'll fly back for the memorial I hope. Pretty sure he will.
