gregstephens
We "hate on him" for the list, because it's self serving and as a guy who's been in the league with the success he has had, he shouldn't need those types of antics to motivate him. I love that Chad thinks he's the best player out there as confidence is very important, I have no issues with that. Chad didn't have any problems with the embarrassment of last season week after week that I can recall and as a matter of fact, he seemed to embrace it. It wasn't until after the Bengals had some good free agent pickups, good draft, and the claim of Carson being back 100% for this upcoming season that Chad finally wanted to take responsibility for what he did since the last offseason.I think his reasons for taking responsibility at this point in time as opposed to (I don't know) when it was going on is suspect at best. I don't blame him for wanting to win. I bet his desire to win is no more than any other player on that team because it's not those guys want to go out there and lose. You have to be the professional when things like last year happen and if Chad implodes on Carson again this year due to what Chad thinks should happen, I hope the fans boo the living sh*t out of him...Once again, I'm looking for and hoping for Chad to have a good season. Only for the teams sake, not Chad's...I only got one thing to add to the discussion at this point. I agree completely that if Fredo has another public meltdown with CP the fanbase should en masse tear Fredo apart. The haters and the lovers both should draw that line in the sand now.Greenie, your most recent post in this thread was one of the more logical and thought-out posts on this topic. I'll bash ya when you give me a headache, I'll prop you when you make some points. It's all good. But I'll make a deal with you. I'll back off Fredo and hope him a career season. You agree that he goes public postal on CP once this year, you'll call Fredo on it. I'll call that halfway for us.Deal?
TJJackson
The list is fun.For defensive coordinators on the opposing teams, who watch in delight as their team's defensive backs gain motivation every week to punch Golden Boy in the teeth. And for Chad, as he is clueless. Not for anyone else.Chad makes the game fun.Yeah, what could be more fun than wtchign a highly paid professional tank an entire season? Fun Fun Fun.why should we hate on him for the list? I really don't see any major problems with it.You wouldn't have seen any problems if you were a passenger on the HindenburgThe "hate" is explained above, albeit I don't expect the likes of you to understand itI don't know about you, but I want a guy on my team who thinks he is the absolute best player out there.Yeah, let's sign up that guy. Clue for you: Chad is not this guy.Chad thinks he can't be stopped, that's a good thing. You and me both know that Chad isn't going to defeat everyone on that list, but he doesn't think that way. All he's thinking about is how he's going to get off on these CB's each and every week.Thinking it is fineAdvertising it to these DBs so that they are highly motivated to shut him down is not fine. It's assinine. The only problem I see (the list will add to this) is that Chad also doesn't take embarrassment very well.Put another way, he's a child - not a professionalIf we come out one week and #9 get's no protection and can't get Chad the ball, Chad will implode and get frusterated (which we've seen a dozen times)Again......he's a child.Again, I wouldn't blame him for it because protecting the freaking QB is number 1!No, you won't blame him because you have your tongue so far up his posterior that you can't see the truth. Accept it. Chad is money with a healthy, protected Carson Palmer. He's arguably THE best WR in many categories. Ask our QB smart guy... That's all I gotta say. You can hate all you want, but Carson wouldn't lie.. 85's a game changer.
TJJackson
Yeah, a starting player tanking an entire season sure can change a game -- or 2 -- or 16He can even have a meltdown at halftime while leading in a playoff game, thereby helping to lose said game He's a game changer alrightA Season changer, even
Ickey44
Greenie, Chad's history of disappearing in big games in legendary. He's anything but a game-changer. The only big game I can even think of that he stepped up in was the Monday night game against Denver in 2004. He's been absent in nearly every game against the Steelers and Ravens. He has the ability to be a gamebreaker, but historically he's not been. Hence the moniker, Ocho Noshow.
