Graham's only been in one position to make one that we really needed, that was very makable, and he missed. At least I can't recall others. That one hooked like I've never seen after being pointed dead-center, and I have to think the hold played a role.

Also, the legend of Adam Vinatieri is better than the actual player. Season to season, he's very erratic. Some great years, some bad years. There's a reason he's not with the Patsies anymore - they don't screw up personnel decisions much.

Compare Shayne's stats to Vinatieri's. I think you'll find he compares very favorably. You can say what you want about "clutch", but what usually turns up there is that people end up making a lot of noise about a tiny sample size. I'm not willing to base a conclusion off of that.

I'm not sure if Shayne is top 5 - he might be - but I'm confident he's top 10. Let's get some kid with a massive leg who can take over long FGs and kickoffs, and let Shayne do what he does best - kicks of about 50 or less.

I dunno, how much difference in average starting position do you think we'd get from some guy who can really boom it? 5-6 kicks a game, maybe 7 yards farther back? Throw in some long FGs, I can see that being worth more than some scrub who never plays anyway. But then I've always thought special teams was underrated, I'm sort of goofy that way.

Besides, all I'm hoping for him to do next season is kick a record amount of extra points.

The recent contract signed by Houston Texans kicker Kris Brown will play a factor in negotiations.

He signed a 4-year 10-million dollar deal, with a 2.5 million dollar bonus last week.

There is a bit of coincidence in Wednesday being the day for the announcement. It's the last day Graham and the Bengals have to reach a long-term deal before the end of the season. If things don't amp up, it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Yeah. Even the most self-hating fans don't get pleasure from rubbing fellow fan's faces in the history of mediocrity. They are merely disillusioned and don't buy into the optimism of others. It is something altogether different to get your jollies by telling other fans how happy you will be when the Bengals fail.

There is a distinct difference between expecting failure and hoping for it. Bearcat is clearly the latter. He's admitted to looking forward to watching the O-line fail so he can say, "I told you so." No true fan would prefer to see his team lose just to be proven right.

The last week or so has been fun... all the mommy talk and whatnot. It's funny to me that he was forced to change his screenname hoping to defend himself while yet again pretending to be something he's not (whether it be a mommy or a Bengal fan, I'm not yet sure). Nobody here is saying this team will make it to the playoffs or the Superbowl. What we're saying is that they'll be better than last year and if some things happen a certain way they could have a winning season.
