Clackwoods
Just wanted to start a topic where we could combine all the off season acquisitions into one thread and discuss them. I am only including the people who are believed to be starters or legit players on the team this year that weren't with us the majority of last season.Offense-QB- Carson Palmer (Return from injury)- Starter, JT. Osullivan- Backup RB- Brian Leonard- Second String, Bernard Scott- Third StringFB- Jeremiah Johnson, FuiWR- Laverneus Coles-Second WRTE- Chase Coffman-Second or third TE???Oline- Andre Smith (Franchise LT), John Luigs (Potential starter/Backup Center or Guard)Dline- Michael Johnson- Second string DE (Pass rush specialist), Tank Johnson (Second or third DT)LB's- Keith Rivers (Return from injury), Rey (Starting LB, MLB or SLB?)DB- Roy Williams (5 time Pro Bowler, starting Safety), Morgan Trent (Possible nickel corner)Special Teams- Kevin Huber (Best punter in draft, 45 yard average)We lost a couple players, but I believe we replaced them with equal if not better talent, the only one that you could question is TJ and Coles. I love Coles and I think he is just as good as TJ so their is no loss their. Take into account the maturation of our second year players including Sims, and our two WR's and we are looking at a very impressive roster upgrade. We have upgraded the following positions in my opinon:QB, Depth at RB, FB, More maturity at WR, TE, Oline (Specifically LT and depth), DE, DT (With Tank and the maturation of Sims and the arrival of Shirley), LB, DB (How can you argue with a five time probowler?), and Special teams (We locked up a top 5 kicker and got a WAY better kicker than Larson. Our team has improved in almost every position. We went to the playoffs in 2005 with a roster that I think had less talent than this one and with our weak schedule I don't think 12 and 4 is out of question

I really like how the Bengals have had a good mix of veterans, young and improving players and stud rookies. I am totally pumped for August. With our depth, I think the Bengals will go 4-0, although the preseason means next to nothing. The roster will probably turnover about 40%-50% this upcoming season, but I like it coming off a 4 win season, and the talent level has skyrocketed across the board. ArmyBengal
Didn't the Lions go 4-0 through preseason last year ?? I know what you are saying, but that's just funny...Agree with the thought of not really being concerned with turnover after coming off a 4 win season. mgilgris
As with every season, we have to stay healthy. That will be what makes or breaks us. We do however have better depth than in years past.

volcom69
Im very happy with this offseason, only thing right now im concerned about is the Center postion i just hope somebody steps up and becomes a beast at center for us. The o-line does scare me alittle i hope they all gel and become better as a group, this team need Palmer up and throwing to be succesful. icehole3
Was there anyone on this list that I forgot?I think the subtraction of Girlcheck is huge and ending that project is a new beginning in getting the OLine fixed, if they can just let the best man win at center we'll night and day at that position. UF_Gators_15
What about Adam Jones, sign him to a 1-year deal with incentives and he plays nickelback and Punt returner from day 1. Y not?

gregstephens
What about Adam Jones, sign him to a 1-year deal with incentives and he plays nickelback and Punt returner from day 1. Y not?You are clearly referring to someone other than Adam 'Pacman' Jones, right? Right???Seriously, man wouldn't even make it on the field. He'd get mixed up with Henry and get bounced again by the 'Commish'.Can you imagine the beating we'd take if we signed him? As the Cowboys discovered, his 'talents' aren't worth the liabilities. volcom69
Come on im sure Mike Brown will use some of his money to get some quality "bodyguards" to keep a close on Pacman....right? LOL LOL. I think if Roy wants to he can beat out any of the safties we have on this team, in fact i hope he does because that would mean we would have the old Roy Williams back, and that would do alot for the defense.I hope Rod Hood is signed at sometime, i watched him when i played with the eagles, since im in Pa i always get there games, and he is a very good corner young and a good playmaker. If they were smart sign him and let him compete to start or play the nickel. Never to much compition.
ArmyBengal
Maybe someone can dig it up, but wasn't there a Bang Cartoon with Pacman and Henry in it ?? That sh*t was funny as hell !!!No to Edge. People just can't seem to let go of what he did in Indy. I don't know why ??No to Hollis. Why ?? Tank, Peko, Sims, and Shirley work for me.No to Pacman. Is anyone even serious about this ?? That has to be a f*cking joke to think of something that f*cking ridiculous. Seriously. The only other thing I would like them to do is take care of the #3 CB, but if they think they have that on the roster, so be it. I don't think they do, but they have to be getting close to where they want to spend.
