Roster and Depth Chart predictions

Recommended Posts

QB: Carson Palmer, J.T. O'Sullivan, Jordan Palmer

RB: Cedric Benson, DeDe Dorsey, Bernard Scott (3rd down)

FB: Fui Vakapuna

TE: Ben Utecht, Chase Coffman

WR 1: Chad Ochenta y Cinco, Jerome Simpson

WR 2: Andre Caldwell, Mario Urrutia

WR 3: Laverneus Coles, Chris Henry

LT: Andre Smith, Anthony Collins, Andrew Whitworth

LG: Andrew Whitworth, Scott Koostra, Kyle Cook

C: Johnathan Luigs, Andrew Crummey, Kyle Cook

RG: Bobbie Williams, Nate Livings

RT: Anthony Collins, Scott Koostra, Dennis Roland

P: Kevin Huber

K: Shane Graham

LS: Brad St. Louis

RDE: Antwan Odom, Frostee Rucker, Jon Fanene (DT)

RDT: Domata Peko, Jason Shirley

LDT: Tank Johnson, Pat Sims, Clinton McDonald (DE)

LDE: Robert Geathers, Michael Johnson (3-4 OLB)

SSOLB: Dhani Jones, Brandon Johnson, Rashad Jeanty

MLB: Rey Maualuga, Dhani Jones (3-4 ILB)

WSOLB: Keith Rivers, Darryl Blackstock

FS: Chris Crocker, Corey Lynch, Kyries Hebert

SS: Chinedum Ndukwe, Marvin White

RCB: Leon Hall, Morgan Trent

LCB: Jonathan Joseph, Simeon Castille

Pretty damn good depth chart if you ask me. Depth across the board, can lose both Tackles and still keep a better OLine than we had last year, Whiteworth slides to LT, Koostra to LG, and Collins to RT. Defense is fast young and aggressive, I am looking for a top five finish this year.

Gone are Reggie Kelly (great guy but it makes the offense too predictable), Antonio Chatman, John Thornton, Mike Doss, Eric Henderson, Kenny Watson, Daniel Coats, and David Jones

Practice Squad Guys: James Johnson, Maurice Purify, Freddie Brown, Dan Skuta, Marlon Lucky

EDITED to account for Russell's cut and Levi Jone's anticipated cut/trade.

After the draft and seeing what some of the teams on our schedule did or didn't do, I'm now more confident in seeing our defense making big improvements that will show in the rankings. We don't play many offensive powerhouses, so I don't see how they won't move up in the standings.

Do you have LColes as the 3rd WR behind ACaldwell? I think that he would start over him, otherwise looks pretty good...I also think that LJones may be a goner...

First, Cook is the apparent starter at Center as of now followed by Luigs.

Secondly, Pat Sims will start over Tank Johnson

Third, you don't pay a guy over six million a year to be a number three wide receiver. Caldwell will be in the slot, not Coles

First you maybe right but these thing tend to change in OTAs and Training Camp, I think Crummey has more talent than Cook and that Luigs has more talent than either.

Second, It really doesn't matter there will be a rotation and they will all see good time.

Third, as I explained earlier, Coles is the starter at Y, Caldwell is the starter at Z which means he will be in the slot. I wrote them as I see them on a depth chart, with the WR2 position being slot.

I think Andre Smith will be at RT

I think Collins or Whitworth will man the LT spot, and I'd like to see Whit continue as LG, so I'll go with Collins

Kooistra can play all OL spots except center, has played at RT several times when Willy has been hurt

I *really* like that you have Bernard Scott flat out making the team

Still need another corner, tho - 5 is the mininum

I think Benson and Scott are locks at RB.

But I don't see the three RB as Benson, Scott, And Dorsey. Two of the three are small 3rd down type backs. If Benson goes down, yo don't have anyone to carry the load as an every down RB. Throw in the fact that Dorsey is always hurt...

The need a guy who can be a workhorse if needed. Kind of like why they kept Rudi around whenthey had Corey.

Also, David Jones is the 3rd CB on this team. He played really well last year when forced to start and got better as the season went on. He is way above Castille. Trent has a shot as the #4 CB.

And Jeanty will be on this team.

I think Cook wil start at C.

Collins starts at LT. Livings is the #1 backup at LG, not Kooistra.

Simeon Castille ? Simeon Castille? - the man so slow that he needs to be timed by a sundial - the thought of this guy on any roster I cant believe.

He better be gone

David Jones at the other CB spot

Sims start - no question- they all rotate anyway

Tank and Shirley ( if he is not cut)will be in more on pass downs

I f Coffman can play he will start

At WR its - Coles - Henry and if Chad is there -dont be surprised if Simpson starts if Chad is gone or they may share one WR spot.

Dont be shocked if Purify and Quan Cosby make the team-- they are both great- although I just dont think the coaches like Purify that much no matter how good he is.

I wasnt really being a dick when I said that

I am just going off what they said on Bengals.com in their interviews about Cook. If you want an accurate depth chart I was just helping you out.

It doesn't matter the rotation, but again. if you want an accurate depth chart then you need to list the starter first.

Finally, in my experience the Z and X are listed as the number one and two on any depth chart and the Slot is listed as a backup, not the other way around

What the hell are you talking about? I've argued with Wraith as much as anyone around here... and I rarely read smart ass attitude. He was responding to the 3 points you made. He did it in the same manner you did for clarity... so if you weren't being a dick, neither was he.

Either stop reading so much into a forum, or get your hormones balanced (depending on your gender).

Benson,Dede,Scott

I think Watson will edge out Dede but would not mind dede beating him.

SSOLB: Dhani Jones, Brandon Johnson, Rashad Jeanty

MLB: Rey Maualuga, Dhani Jones (3-4 ILB)

WSOLB: Keith Rivers, Darryl Blackstock

Switch Brandon with BLackstock.....

RCB: Leon Hall, Morgan Trent

LCB: Jonathan Joseph, Simeon Castille

Outside of those I liked the setup though I think we'll go with 3 TE's if Kelly is healthy...

I reread that and almost immediately edited that part out. Sorry about that

Fair enough bro.

Sorry I drew attention to it before you had a chance to change it. I admit I've gone back and edited a few posts myself hoping no one had a chance to read them yet.

X lines up at the LOS, Z off the line, Y is the (receiving) tight end. at least that's how i remember it.

THe way it was on our team was the Z was our number one receiver and lined up off the ball, the X was the number 2 and lined up on the line and the Y was the slot.

This time of the year always seems to bring some anger out in people, but please keep the personal attacks to a minimum.

Fair enough, but isn't it sorta remarkable how much anger a Fed-Up can manage to secrete even after a draft that's better than their wildest dreams?

In my most humble of opinions....(ahem).....Fed Ups are a pitiable bunch.
