So Wood and Mack are the only Centers taken so far?

Unger is gone as well

Cheers. Just seen it, the official NFL draft tracker has him listed as an OT.

So, maybe Luigs or Caldwell (or other Cs that people think are better) fall to us in the third. Sounds good to me, hopefully our luck holds and 5 Cs aren't taken in the dozen picks or so before us.

Are there any other veteran Centers worth a sh*t out there or any that may get dropped after the draft that could provide an upgrade at the position ??

I'm just not sure...

I hate to say it but i think patience on waiting till our pick and not trading up is the best option. There are still a lot of good players left that teams will get outside of the center position.

Am I missing something or is Michael Johnson still available as well?

If he is still their I could definatly see us taking him. He would fill our need for a pass rusher. We can get a Center at the end of round 3. Get a RB in round 4 and then a CB in round 5

Oddly enough, here we sit with Caldwell, Shipley, and Luigs still on the board. I'm now thinking that if all three are still there that they wait until the bottom of the 3rd and hope they can get one there. I'm sure there will be someone of MUCH better value there at the top of the 3rd.

In looking at who is left on the board, it would appear that by the time we pick in the 3rd, Caldwell may be one of the best players available.

That's who I want at the top of the 3rd now.

Watch us take a TE, and if that happens, it better be Coffman...

Jared Cook is the next TE off the board. He ran a 4.5 forty and had a 41 inch vert and a 10'6 long jump.

I do indeed like the draft so far, but they really really really really really need to get that center next

Really

Really?

Well, Caldwell and Luigs are still on the board. 1 of them should be there, and most likely both by the time the Bengals pick. Let's hope the crazy reach syndrome does not pop up next round and they draft someone I never heard of.

Really?

Yeah......really.

Shipley is a possibility as well, but I find myself in the rather odd situation of being, just this one time, in agreement with WCA....I want Caldwell

For the comp pick, gimme the best player remaining for our system who is a OL, DE, RB (kr/pr preferred), TE, or CB (kr/pr preferred), and who does not rob banks, beat up women, contribute to the delinquency of minors, or park his car in the middle of a bridge to go to sleep

Shipley has short arms and has problems with bull rushers, sound familiar?

Caldwell then Luigs then we have to go bargain hunting in FA because those are the only starter caliber C in the draft. Pray that Caldwell is still there at our pick because he is a great C prospect.

A lot of talented players left. Caldwell. CBs Mickens,DJ Moore,Asher Allen. DEs Michael Johnson Jarron Gilbert and Lawrence Sidbury. Guards Duke Robinson and kraig Urbik.RBs Shonn Greene,Andre Brown,Rashad Jennings, and Glenn Coffee. I think the number of quality TEs is intriguing:Jared Cook, Shawn Nelson, Cornelius Ingram and Chase Coffman. A lot of value there at #70, and these guys are just the ones I can recall off the top of my head. A plethora of pinatas!

I knew youd come aournd TJ. Caldwell offers the best value in the thrids.

I hope we look at Corneluos UIngram if he is there late 3rd. He is explosive and can be great.

And didnt I tell you all that Michael Johnson would be a thrid roun d pcuik?

I just don't see the Bengals passing on a skill position player at this pick. In my opinion the Bengals got to believe that a center will still be available when they pick at the bottom of the round.

Shonn Greene can be an every down back if needed and can also be that 1-2 punch with Benson. The guy was the Big Ten Offensive player of the year...which isn't too bad. Glenn Coffee would be nice too.

Juaquin Iglesias is also still on the board when some said he was a second round pick. Jared Cook would be a nice addition to the TE corps.

I see this playing out one of two ways. The Bengals either draft Greene or Coffee followed by a center in the third, OR they draft a center first and follow it up with Juaquin Iglesias or Cook. Both pretty good moves in my opinion.
