jjakq27
"The Lost Decade"I know the losing lasted more than 10 years but since it started in the 90's (1991) and spanned the 90's, I thought it was appropriate,I would also like to submit "The Curse of Bo". The Bengals lost to the Raiders in the playoffs in January of 1991 and from that point on the team was in the can. During that game Bo Jackson was injured when tackled by Kevin Walker and it effectively ended Bo's career. Maybe we could get his Raiders jersey and blow it up or something like they did in Chicago with the Bartman Ball. Just a thought.

boomer77
not to rain on the parade, but everyone here is taking it as an article of faith that we'll win at least nine games next year. i fear the jungle fandom is getting a little ahead of itself. examine the facts -- and not lest the history -- of this franchise. i'm as big a believe as anyone, but maybe it's time to temper our expectations. dare i say another 8-8 season would be considered...a...(gulp) success??? think about it -- basically a rookie qb, a D that couldn't stop the run, a starting corner who was so bad at denver that he was forced to swtich to wr, and a middle linebacker who's as big as my next neighbor's 12 year old. again, i'm a believer, but i'm just trying to throw some sobriety on this drunken festival of high expectations... Your words may be all too true, but I fear most people have not considered Marvin in this equation. His impact on his previous teams tell a different tale! boomer77
"Your words may be all too true, but I fear most people have not considered Marvin in this equation. His impact on his previous teams tell a different tale."last time i heard, a coach can only coach. it takes players -- and plenty of 'em -- to make plays. that, i fear, is the department in which the bengals lack. but, again, i'm a huge believer, and i think carson will be extremely special. that said, it's a lot to ask for this team to post another winning record, especially considering their brutal schedule... The Brew Man
boomer77, i agree with most of what you are saying, I hope we arent setting ourselves up for a fall as fans if the boys have another 8-8 year. We gotta realize its a process and takes time to be a perinnial playoff team. As for the 90s, i say we go with forgettables.

denverbengal
The WONDER YEARS. As in...I WONDER what useless pieces of crap we're going to waste our draft picks on this year.I WONDER why, if there's a God in heaven could He be so cruel?I WONDER what Mike Brown was smoking when he decided that it would be a good idea to hire Dave Shula (and where can I score some of that?).I WONDER if I'll ever be able to admit I'm a Bengals fan again, without people falling down and rolling on the floor, only to get up and really rub it in my face.I WONDER, what ever happened to Homer Rice? Bobcat Bengal
Just about everytime I watched the Bengals of old, I asked myself, Why do I watch? But I couldn't change the channel....I just couldn't...they had flashes of brillance every now and then....You know, maybe its because Bengals are solitary creatures, and they don't work well with others...Just my opinion....
