My problem with these kinds of accusations is that how in the world would she know who Ahmad Brooks is or what he looks like in street clothes? My guess is that after every assault in NKY when the victim doesn't know their attacker the police just flip some pictures of the Bengals roster in front of the victim and ask if it was one of them. <_<

Hopegfully, he wasn't wearing his "Brooks 55" jersey, like a previous Bengals did. The Rivers pick looks better everyday.

Hahaha, I wouldn't be surprised.

Exactly, Kazkal I have a buddy who lives next to Frosty Rucker. Now without him telling me that, that was Rucker I would have no idea but the fact that he is a neighbor tends to make it well known.

Rucker, by the way (knock on wood) is a pretty straight arrow guy.

Aye thats why I have hope for shirley and think this thing with brooks could be BS because you've heard nothing on guy since we drafted him...on the football field >_< and off.

Bengals front office makes phone call:

"Hello ?? Takeo ?? Have you signed with another team yet ??"

WHODEY !!!

Heard on LW today that the lady was asking him to take an argument he was having away from her kids and he jacked her. IF that is the case the dude has NO class.

Here's the Enquirer story:

Story

He's done. Another big black eye for the Bengals. This will get them national headlines/scorn again I'm sure.

So tired of the idiots Marvin has brought in here. What a total mess this franchise still is.

Brooks accused of assault

I'm just saying we should wait and let it play out,I've had the cops called on me because I blocked a chick from slapping me and it turned out in to me hitting her.

She probably deserved it.

Nice.

She should mind her own business.

You're a dumbass.

Sadly, it appears western PA idiots have leaked their genes a bit southwest. Pong, your comments are what remind me to be the best model possible for my children.

The timing does seem strange since it apparently happened on May 9th and is just being reported now. I hope

this is nothing but BS, but if true then I would be in favor of showing Brooks the door.

It is never appropriate to hit a woman.

I seem to recall something... innocence... proven guilty... anyone wanna help me put that together?

Trust me, I'm on the west coast, and I am as tired of defending the Bengals as anyone else. But "CUT HIM NOW!"? Give the man a ***damn chance here, fellas. Half of these accusations turn out to be nil. I'm guessing this will follow along the same lines. A month until she reported the crime? Honestly, that usually means one thing and one thing only -- cash grab.

I'm willing to wait until it has its day in court. People are far less likely to give out second chances these days to football players. They are honestly like anyone else. Except that they are younger and have far higher salaries -- which means they have disposable income to party and get crazy as all get out. But before we accuse someone of hitting a woman, why don't we wait until all the facts are in here. This is, at this point, extraordinarily one-sided.

And, honestly, can Pro Football Talk please find another team to poorly write about? I wouldn't mind so much that they are constantly talking about what a crummy, thuggish team we are, if they could at least do it with somewhat decent prose. I recently tuned into their site, and it's some of the worst writing I've read in my entire life. Buzz Bissinger would be insulted!

Yeah, exactly. Give the guy a chance... Anyways, the BITCH probably deserved it! ;)

I would like to add the word allegedly in there. The incident did occur in early april yet somehow is just now getting filed. Sounds a little fishy. Whats next, lock-down in paul brown?

As an assistant prosecutor, this isn't the least bit fishy. Oftentimes law enforcement will take a couple of weeks to get witness statements, talk to prosecutor's office, et cetera before a charge is filed, particularly when they know it will be a hgh profile situation, as when another Bengal is involved. I don't know anything about this situation, but the timing as I know it is right in line with what I would expect.

For the life of me. I can't understand why soooooooo many Bengals get caught up in this and yet they STILL ignore character in the draft. It's insane and the sign of a bad organization.

I don't think it is fair to say that they 'ignore character in the draft'. 3 years ago, I believe they ignored it. Today, they do not ignore it ... yet surely do not put themselves at a disadvantage to the rest of the league by requiring zero issues at any point in the life of the player. Please don't fall prey to the media spin on this.

I think you meant to write April 9th, but I agree with what you are saying.

I think they're getting better, but you look at a late round pick like Shirley and you have to ask yourself if they've learned. Especially in a late round pick, it's just not worth the extra grief you're going to get from the league. Not worth painting the target on your back.
