mgilgris Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 QB and PUNTER here we come. At this point, I could see the Bengals going best player available.
HoosierCat Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Sims it is...HoF's head explodes....Which only makes me like the pick more! Yay Bengals!
membengal Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 There's your DT, boys. I hear Hair's worries on him, but living down here in western TN, I can tell you that SEC fans thought he was a beast coming for next year, and were glad he went pro now. Hopefully Zimmer can develop him. He's got upside.
Rudi_Cant_Fail Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I think - hope? - they have the time to develop him...
ArmyBengal Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Posted April 27, 2008 The pick thread is open, so let's keep this one focused on the next pick in the 3rd round please...WHODEY !!!
kingwilly Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Let's get some CB depth...Tyvon Branch is still there. Or O-line...Nicks
membengal Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I am looking back at WR again...Caldwell and Doucet still on the board, I think.Or another DT would be fine.Frankly, I am really pleased with where this draft has gone to this point.
kurgan74 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I would love Fluellen then the Bengals would be able to give Thornton hia wlaking papers. However, I think the Bengals will go RB and take either Steve Slayton or Tashard Choice.
mgilgris Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Best player available that is not a QB or Kicker
NJ29 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I still like Highsmith, even though they've already drafted a WLB. He could be huge on third downs as a pass rusher and in coverage.
NJ29 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I would love Fluellen then the Bengals would be able to give Thornton hia wlaking papers. However, I think the Bengals will go RB and take either Steve Slayton or Tashard Choice.Andre's a beast, I'd be happy with that pick. And dumping Thornton also sounds great to me, as much as I don't see it happening. I'd prefer Choice over Slaton. Slaton doesn't seem very tough to me, and Choice is the kind of saavy banger that could eventually replace Rudi.
Spor_tees Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Bengals could go Center either in this round or next with Steve Justice from Wake Forest or John Sullivan from Notre Dame...I really think if he is still there they go Tashard Choice
NJ29 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 As far as safeties, Thomas DeCoud is still on the board. Jeremy Zuttah, the guard from Rutgers, just went off the board. He was a guy I really liked.
membengal Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I am not going to get my heart set on a player or position at this point. The first three picks were pretty flawless, in terms of need and potential of guy drafted, in my view, so, really, I am content. Now, hopefully, they will stick by their board and go BPA (non-qb and k division).
ArmyBengal Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Posted April 27, 2008 I think the pick is going to be a RB... I wouldn't mind seeing another D-lineman though !!!WHODEY !!!
mgilgris Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Agreed army. I think it will be RB but I wouldnt mind another DL
kurgan74 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I would say RB likely as well. If DT's continue to fall we can get another in Rd 4. There are some good WR'sand Running backs. I am going to go out on a limb and say at 97 we will take Tashard Choice (if available).
mgilgris Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I owuld have to say I like how the steelers beef up on the Defense every year. They need some OL help
LABengalsFan09 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...Tashard Choice...
skyline Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Choice sounds good to me as well. I'm surprised at how down people are on him, though. A lot of the things I'm reading say he won't project well to an NFL RB due to a lack of speed and explosiveness. *shrug*They've been wrong before.
HairOnFire Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Sims it is...HoF's head explodes....Which only makes me like the pick more! Yay Bengals! Sorry to disappoint, but HoF's head remains intact. I don't hate the pick, and I can easily accept the reasons for making it. I'm simply not sold on the player. I've got far too many doubts and questions to covet a player like Sims. But despite my skepticism I don't doubt his ability to play when he wants to, and there's the rub because IMHO he's only shown the "want to" for one year. And FWIW I don't think he's ready to play in the NFL right away. He'll take a year, minimum. I grant you it's a need pick and Sims slipped far enough that I won't quibble over the value. But he's a boom or bust guy and I'm not as confident as most of you seem to be.
ArmyBengal Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Posted April 27, 2008 Dre Moore and Cliff Avril are still on the board as well...WHODEY !!!
