ShulaSteakhouse
Err, a trade made up by an LA writer on his own turns into an "NFL rumor?" The Bengals won't trade Chad Johnson if it means they lose money, they won't, and I don't see how they can avoid it if they did.

Jonboat
Hell with Chad lets trade them Chris Henry + 3rd or something like that for the #4 pick. The Raiders aren't afraid of character risks Henry does have a ton of talent having the #9 pick isn't too big of a drop they could still get an impact player. The bengals with the amount of picks we have could find a #3 WR somewhere in the draft alot easier than replacing your #

We are getting lathered up over this itty bitty rag? They know nothing. This rag is up north of SF, itself notorious for crappy newspapers and reporting. Marin is a nice place to hang out though. Chad could be traded so "if" he was traded..etc..etc..Just some food for thought on something in the media....Well, the only thing I am a professional at is a Soldier and EMT, I just play around here and spout off about sh*t that I'm really just guessing at. Much the same as about 99.9% of the people on this site I would imagine... That being said, some additional food for thought is the amount of cap hit the Bengals would take by letting Chad walk. That is always the one thing you NEVER hear any of the ANALists talk about on ESPN. They just keep bumping their gums about how great of an idea it is for Chad to go somewhere else. Whatever... Now if, and that's a big "IF" Chad were to buy his way out of his contract sort of like what Moss did and then we were to get the Raiders 1st and 2nd round picks this year, I would pack Chad's household goods free of charge and see him to the plane... I'm thinking there won't be any backaches in my future though...Oh yeah, not to mention this is some internet guessing journal written by Joe Neckbone... Once again, who cares ??WHODEY !!! The dream is dead, the deal is dead, and ThunderCats is dead Not a # 4 pick.....I'd argue that all the top five picks have hurt this organization as much as anything. You're hamstrung into paying huge money to unproven talent. Number nine is as high as I'd like to be. Yeah Carson seems to be working out just fine, but for every successful top five pick there are two that don't pan out.

Hes and over paid/rated baby.Bad move for the Raiders.Just to play Devil's Advocate:a) Al Davis doesn't care, he has a chubby for diva WRs. See above, Al Davis loves divas. He stops loving them if they get uppity (see Allen, Marcus)c) Did you see what they paid Javon Walker? The more overrated they are, the more Davis wants them.I really think the Raiders would love to get Chad. I don't think it'll happen, but I don't think it's because the Raiders wouldn't want him. ArmyBengal
I'll consider this a possibility when Chad buys his way out of his contract... When that happens, I'll be more than happy to revisit this topic of conversation. Until then, I'll be looking for Chad to continue catching footballs from Carson...WHODEY !!! WKRP
Maybe I'm missing something, but why is it that most people think that trading Chad is completely out of the question? What I'm seeing is cut Rudy+2.9=cap hit on Chad-2.5, very do-able. Wouldn't Chad's net hit be 8.8 million of dead money non-amortized signing bonus less 6.3 in salary that wouldn't be paid to him? See link :http://cap.go-bengals.com/

WKRP
Actually, after looking at this, basically it would be a net cap hit of 8.8 - 3.0 salary or 5.8 mill. Ouch!!If it were to get ugly, Bengals should publicly ask for return of $3-4 mill in signing bonus if he really does wants out.If Chad were to agree, does that reduce the cap hit for sure???? jmoore
The Raiders sound like the dog chasing the car. They had better know what to do if the catch it. I would imagine this is just pure speculation on the reporters behalf.I can't imagine Johnson going anywhere with an $8 million dollar cap hit looming. If there was not a big cap hit and they could get the 4th overall pick, I would say get the private jet warmed up. We will fly Chad out at the Bengals cost and drop him off right at the front door of the Oakland airport. We will even pack his hokey Hall of fame jacket and a free rubber mowhawk wig to take with him. I highly doubt this would ever happen. It is kind of funny to even think about it. HoTbOy
CJohnson could be traded no-one is above being traded, but with that cap hit, it is seriously in doubt...
