DDOGG
I think that trading Rudi, a 2nd & 3rd round pick for McFadden would not be a bad idea considering the Bengals need a fast running game, because the Bengals need some kind of running game. Pidge
Well, I would not trade the second and third round picks to start with. There's a fair amount of depth this year, especially at O-line. Secondly, that would not be enough to get us into the top 5, unless you meant we throw in the number 9 pick as well. Thirdly, without strengthening the lines, especially the D-line, no amount of fancy pants skill players will get us any where in the long run. Sure, we might just about overcome the hideous defense and squeak into the playoffs. We would be one and done, however, and the season after that we're faced with same old problems again, most likely with fewer defensive options in the draft and our offensive stars would be even closer to collecting their pensions. With all that said, We'll probably end up drafting a RB in the first round somehow. It'll be lovely to watch said RB have a 150 yard game with a TD run of 80 yards in a valiant 44-7 loss.I need a drink.
DC_Bengals_Fan
It's pretty well known these days that a mediocre back behind a good line will be tons better than a good back behind a bad line. So I don't think a big-name rookie RB like McFadden is worth what we'd have to pay, not to mention that Rudi + 2nd + 3rd round picks wouldn't get you close to the #5 pick (estimating where McFadden goes). Also, our defense is in such pieces that we can't afford to go burning yet more picks on the offense. Spor_tees
If they want a fast back for cheap they can go after Warrick Dunn when he gets cut or sign DeShaun Foster.

Horsemen
I think that trading Rudi, a 2nd & 3rd round pick for McFadden would not be a bad ideaIt's a GREAT idea! Get rid of on of our guys without letting him redeem himself with one last chance, blow two picks, and waste a first rounder on an unproven flashy college guy. Brilliant idea. It'll help tons when other teams offenses are running all over our defense, no doubt. Question, is McFadden the new replacement for the CJ posts now or something? bryce40
I live in MO so we get tons of Arkansas football games here, no way would I draft McFadden unless he fell to the 2nd round. This guy isn't going to be as good as Adrian Peterson in the NFL.
JoePong
Seriously, are all bengal fans this stupid? Why post these ridiculous trade suggestions? Who the hell is going to give up a high draft pick and want to take on Rudi Johnson? Dude...NOBODY WOULD WANT HIM!!!Just think a little bit before you post. JoePong
You'd have a better chance of trading just a 2nd and 3rd round pick to get McFadden. If you try to throw in Rudi, that would kill the deal - a team would be less likely to do it. Why would someone want to give up a future stud RB for medicore one that can't do anything special? Think about it! And yes, there is no way we are switching to a 3-4.
TJJackson
Sportees, keep in mind that your average member here - this naturally excepts the agreens and the joepongs of the world - understands that not only do the Bengals already play some 3-4 in specific situations, but also and have come right out several times in the past year or two and confirmed that they are considering converting their base defense to a 3-4.When you are an average thinking person, you already know these things. Doesn't mean it will happen or not happen, just means that the POSSIBILITY it will occur is (to such members) UNDENIABLE.Does that help? I thought Kenny and De De both did a reasonable job last season, especially with a poor O-line. Keep them and use them as we hopefully develop a running game, and keep Rudi but use him for short yardage gains. He doesn't have the punching power or speed any more but he deserves another season at least as he is quality and has served the club well. But only use him for what he is good for now, and develop Kenny and De De into the running game we want. I honestly think if you put them behind a reasonable O-line, they will do the business. You join that with a more effective passing game by giving Carson more protection and time and we will be an offense to be feared by everyone! So no RB this year...concentrate on Linemen. We need 'em baaaadly!!Chandon
