bwillycuse
CJ on Rome today at the Super BowlGist of the whole interview. Only Housh and a little later Palmer had his back this year. 'Thats it'. He wouldnt discuss his problem with the Bengals other than that Drew will handle everything. Chad saying to Rome that he cant say what he feels on the radio but that you know what he is thinking. Leaving it open ended but yet very obvious.Im sick of Chad. His blank comments and stare is starting to annoy me. He stated to Rome he was going into porn. Obvious because any media or television work obviously wont hapen. Every sentence cant start with I.Awe baby, ya feelings hurt? You got a booboo? You want your ego stroked?Again no mention of team. Just I and Ocho Cinco. As I have said in the past. I dont have your back anymore if you keep this up. And if you do, and are still on this team next year. You will be whining even more. The boo birds will be out in full force. From now on when Chad is being interviewed I am going to turn the channel.I am officially calling this man a Cancer.Let Drew handle it.(Its just amazing to me that he went from my favorite player to not even close in a matter of 2 months just because he has to talk, if he would actually let drew take care of it. Things would be better.)
HairOnFire
Yeah, more fanning of the flames. It's become an almost weekly happening. Still, Hoosier says it doesn't matter one bit what he does....so I guess we've got that going for us.
walzav29
I didn't know this thread was already started, but regardless. Chad has to go. It breaks my heart, but he has become Fredo. He has to go.
HoosierCat
Still, Hoosier says it doesn't matter one bit what he does. That's right. Let's see, go on Rome, you're going to be asked about it because the media has already decided its the storyline...and even if you deny it, they wont believe you.Or skip Rome, in which cae the headline is "Johnson Refuses to Talk to Rome, Trade Speculation Grows."But anyhow, to quote someone from another thread, keep on hatin', my Bengal brother. More of silent agreements by Chad on his perceived problems. Would be nice to hear that we will get them next year. Not relying on your agent to do something. Why would Drew be doing anything right now for Chad? Definitely not a contract extension.
agreen_112
If Chad leaves the Nati, I'm leaving the zone for good... Unless we get someone like Briggs or Suggs, or Dorsey and our #9 pick too, then I'll stay.

HairOnFire
Mike Tirico just broke for commercial on his ESPN radio/television show....but offered the teaser than his next guest will be Chad Johnson. I guess the "Nobody Had My Back Tour" is in full swing. I think we know what he'll say, but if possible I'll pass it along.

HoosierCat
With all due respect, only you could offer the opinion that it's impossible for Chad to have any influence on the things that are written about him.Sadly, that's about it. Heck, what impact did Marvin Lewis' point-blank statement that Chad will not be traded have? Zero, right? Once the media gets a storyline in their heads, it's virtually impossible to knock it out. Bengals1
Look gang, I'll be the first one to agree Chad's burning his bridges here but the fact remains that trading him would accelerate his signing bonus something in the neighborhood of 4.5mil from published accounts.Unless and until someone expalins how that can be dealt with in a realistic fashion this whole "Chad's gotta' go, we gotta' trade his ass" talk is just useless and unproductive. It doesn't matter what other player or draft picks some team offers, SoP will never eat a 4.5mil cap hit in one season. Just ain't gonna' happen.

The real problem is that losing Chad would leave us with one reliable receiver, TJ, who is a UFA after this coming season.

Spor_tees
Can the Bengals petition the league for cap relief because they are forced to trade Chad? Didn't the Eagles do something similar with TO?
ShulaSteakhouse
Is it not possible to have the trading partner pick up all or some of the signing bonus somehow? (even if it's by losing the salary of a current player traded away and/or a draft pick slot where predicted salary is lost on top of the lost salary from said player who is traded)Can't you trade for cash like you do in baseball in the NFL as well? walzav29
The correct thing for Shad to say is simple. "I'm not going anywhere, and we're going to win the Super Bowl next year." That's it. Let's look at the list that's adding up.Crying after the Jax gameFight with coach at halftime against PittArguing with Carson on Monday NightPouting for 75% of last seasonTeammates speaking indirectly about himSaying if he's the cance then the Bengals need chemoSaying that only TJ and Carson have his backIt's over Johnny
Spor_tees
How can he stay when he just basically offend every guy on the team but TJ and Carson? He didn't offend just the organization, but almost the entire team and staff.

He didn't offend just the organization, but almost the entire team and staff.Maybe the staff and the rest of the team/organization owes him an apology. You have to admit, the way Chad was treated wasn't right. And for him to admit that no one had his back, well, I don't think he'd just make that up. It has to be coming from somewhere, he's hurt... Everything he's done for this team, everything he's sacrificed. Cincy will never be happy until we get back on the map.At this point, I just wish the best for Chad. TO's happy, Randy's happy... The third best WR deserves to be happy.

Drew Rosenhous needs to get Chad an endorsement deal with Kleenex.Chad is just digging a bigger and bigger hole for himself.

Granted, he was joking as always, but if 85 suddenly decided he wanted to retire leaving his huge $$ on the table that would sure clear up some of the angst of losing him....Hardly worth mentioning, but what the heck... Gotta join the pot-stirring party sometime.
agreen_112
I'm telling you Sport, Chad's feelings are hurt. Whether you guys want to mock him for that or not, he's still one hell of a football player and he wants to win football games and go to the playoffs, not play for a team/city that goes 7-9 and doesn't support him. His actions on and off the field remind me of a 7 year old kid when someone took away their fire truck. The guy doesn't need traded...he needs professional psychiatric help. I'm just waiting to see clips of him doing sit-ups in a MacDonald's drive-thru and crying about Carson in a press conference.
