Dan2330
Makes you wonder if Boomer and Shannon raided the holiday spirits before the show....When talking about next year's predictions today on the CBS pregame show Boomer predicted that the Bengals would be in next year's Super Bowl and that Bill Cowher would be coaching the Bengals in that game. Personally I really hate when these shows do this, I mean it's one thing to predict Super Bowl winners in week #1 of the season (most of which don't even hold true) but to make predictions like this that are more than a season out without knowing schedules, off season F/A moves, trades, drafts, etc. is way off the grid. This was obviously a fluff time filler by CBS. Personally between the two (FOX and CBS) I still like CBS pregame show the best but seems like the are often stretched to get an hour's worth of material in each week. Bengals1
More importantly Cowher didn't say "No way" either.

Spor_tees
Marvin Lewis as defensive Coord. with Bill Cowher as HC? Or Marvin as HC and Bill Cowher as GM? I would be willing to bet it was more just a premeditated ribbing towards Cowher...nothing serious to it at all
cincyhokie
Seriously. There's no way. Good joke though.
cincyhokie
By the way, the last time a network commentator picked the Bengals to win the Superbowl was by a woman on NBC, I can't remember her name. She made the prediciton well before the first game. Everyone in the studio laughed. The Bengals went on to Superbowl 23.
Ox
The only time the s**thead will step foot near cinci is when he changes planes at the airport. There are snowballs in hell with a better chance of lasting than Cower coaching the Bengals. Mike brown doesn't pay coaches to sit at home for 3 years and then hire condescending, non internal hall of famer replacements, who the entire fan base despises. ArmyBengal
This would actually piss me off !!! For one, I hate that motherf*cker and two how long did it take him to get the Steelers back to the Super Bowl ?? No reason to think Marvin could do the same. All I want are new coordinators !!!WHODEY !!!

BengalChamps
When i watched this i got the impression that Boomer was just trying to get under Cowards skin.
TJJackson
I've read two sources now that say that Marvin will be gone not via firing, but because he wants to leave because he is denied the power to rid the team of troublemakers.Ie he will resign.Given the other evidence I have seen, while I am not saying I agree this will happen, I'd now say it will not suprise me. Kirkendall
Really? Have to admit, T.J. I would be. Sources or not, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense that he would skip and run -- after ONE losing season -- after his investment with this community and he's given zero hidden references of anything other than doing it from scratch 2008 plan. I just think we'd have heard of more leaked, consistent rumors by now. Not Peter King, Chris Mortensen assumptions. (not saying that's your sources, but as close of what I've heard)
TJJackson
*shrug*I'm just saying this is the first time I see that it *could* happen, that it is suddenly a possibility whereas I think after previous seasons, I'd say it was unthinkable.
