gregstephens
I don't know many Jets fans, so I have no opinion as to whether they are, as a group, generally obnoxious or generally cool fans. I've seen several Jets fans' postings the past day or so and must say they have been very classy and gracious. Is it truly the fact that both fan bases are suffering and this is our version of having a beer together and crying on each other's shoulders? Either way, good luck Jets fans from Monday forward ( ) and, most important, no injuries.
HoosierCat
Even growing up, the Jets were my second-favorite team -- in fact the first piece of football merchandise was a jets ski cap -- and the 20 years I spent on the East Coast only reinforced that. If I couldn't watch my sad sack Bengals, at least I could watch the sad sack Jets: same stuff, different uniforms. Coaching? Yep, what a collection...Coslet, Kotite, Al freakin' Groh...and of course the very brief career of the "HC of the NYJ." QB comedy? Does Browning Nagel ring a bell? And of course their was Boomer...along with such luminaries as Neil O'Donnell (like I said, same team, different uniform), Frank Reich and of course, Vinnie T (they got him too young, clearly). Front office follies? Oh, yeah, losing RFAs in FA because they didn't exactly match a deal...and of course the draft. There's a reason Jets fans are always booing in MSG in April.I used to go to Jets games, always wore Bengals gear, always had a great time. In contrast to Giants games; Giants fans suck. IMHO, of course.
Bengals1
One of the executives here on the lot is a huge Jets fan. His whole office is made up of Jets helmets, Jets posters, Jets hats etc... he even has a full sized cardboard stand-up of Broadway Joe in there. Here's the email he sent to me earlier today when I asked for his prediction for the upcoming game....0 - 0 tie in quadruple overtime...game called due to lack of interest. Can't say as I blame him. Casey
I've ran across quite a few Jet fans in the past, and as a group, they are some of the classiest fans out there. The ones that post here are pretty typical.I'm looking forward to a great game on Sunday; no more injuries to either side.
BengalszoneBilly
I invited these recent Jet fan visitors over from JetNation.com. I've been a member there for several years, and find it a great fan forum for insight into the Northeastern U.S. sports psyche. Please show them the same class there as they show us here. Their place isn't a low rent Steeler forum for crissake.
