membengal
I've come back around to hoping he's an answer. Now, if he could just get on the freakin' field...
princeton
if less of an offensive role helps Tab to make a punt team tackles, then I'm all for it.maybe the Yalie missed a special teams assignment? somebody surely did. redsbengalsbucks
Palmer had alot of problems hitting any reciever last night.

I'm probably the only one who still believe's that AC is the answer to a question everyone hopes stops being asked.Which question? "Who can catch a pass thrown 3 feet behind him?"Tab caught all of the decently thrown balls in his direction... none.Give he and Carson a chance to get their timing back. They'll be fine. membengal
Palmer had alot of problems hitting any reciever last night. He was 20 of 32. That's just over 60% I believe. He wasn't as sharp as he would have liked, but "a lot of problems?" Really? Hyperbole much?

WhoDey93285
Tab looked clueless as the three. He's definately not the answer. Chatman will suffice until Henry gets back.Granted he stays healthy.

They'll be fine. I don't think it's that simple. It seems as if there are as many examples where Tab zigged where Palmer thought he should have zagged....implying that it isn't entirely a matter of timing and accuracy. Somebody very clearly isn't on the same page of the playbook and I'm betting it's Perry. In addition, Perry is built like, and plays the same role, as players the Bengals already have. By comparison, Chatman is smaller, faster, quicker, and in general perfectly built for the slot role and it's menu of crossing routes. And that's exactly what was missing in the 2nd half last night when the Ravens moved into a Cover-2 shell.

He wasn't as sharp as he would have liked, but "a lot of problems?" Really? Hyperbole much?I saw alot of bad throws from Palmer last night, the player being thrown to quite often had no chance to catch what was offered to him. Palmer was lucky not to have a couple of picks last night from overthrown/tipped balls. This was the case when he was throwing to Tab, CJ, TJ or Rudi, which seems to rule out that Tab was the only reciever having problems last night getting in front of a Palmer pass.Luckily Chad and TJ are good enough to go and get the occasional errant pass ala Swann/Stalworth when the Blonde Bomber was heaving dead ducks towards thier general direction. But at this point having *somebody* take a double off of Chad or TJ would be nice. The big problem isn't that TJ and Chad can't produce under double coverage - it's that they'll get killed doing it. mgilgris
Tab was surely lacking in the slot. McNair and the ravens used the slot well last night with their hot routes and quick posts. While Palmer seems to connect with TJ on the quick routes, Tab either was not in the right place at the right time or was not quick enough to make the route. Tab is fast dont get me wrong but I do not see him as being quick off the line which is essential in the slot.
JoePong
Chatman gives us that quick elusive receiver that the offense is lacking. I think he and Perry should both play depending o the situation and it will give Perry the chance to stay more fresh for special teams and returning kicks. It can only help. Besides, Chatman is the only other proven productive NFL WR other than Chad and TJ. He just needs to stay healthy. I think Chad, TJ, Henry, Chatman, and Perry is a pretty good group. Not sure about Green yet but I'm willing to give him a chance as a punt returner. I don't think he's the answer though.

DC_Bengals_Fan
princeton=overrated.Yup. I love the Ivy Leaguers, $40k a year to look down their noses at people. ArmyBengal
From my perspective watching the game, yes Carson had some misplaced balls thrown to most (if not all) the WR's. The only difference from what I saw is, Tab was the only one who looked out of place while not getting the ball. Chad, TJ, and Rudi were just over or misthrows by Carson. Tab wasn't even going in the right direction of the pass. I have had high hopes for Tab and this one game won't make me panic "completely", but there has to be concern over what the issue between Carson and Tab is. Call it timing or whatever you like, but there is a problem that I feel should have been resolved by this point in time.Chatman will be a welcome addition "if" he can stay healthy...Oh yeah, F*CK GODdell !!!WHODEY !!! Stripes
I still think Tab is the best player on this roster for the #3 WR role. His timing with Palmer is still off, but that will get corrected just as everything else will with a sputtering offense early in the season. Chatman's probably better for the #4 spot than Holt or Green though, when healthy.
mgilgris
CBS fantasy sports reporters (which probably know little to nothing about football) claim that this could be the coming out game for Tab. They reviewed his numbers showing that he always had decent games overall against the stains. Chad on the other hand, has not done so well. I'm probably the only one who still believe's that AC is the answer to a question everyone hopes stops being asked.Eh I doubt he is otherwise eh wouldn't have been cut or you think if he was answer someone else would sign him.He was 20 of 32. That's just over 60% I believe. He wasn't as sharp as he would have liked, but "a lot of problems?" Really? Hyperbole much?Well he still looked off on his early throws and was bad timing on his routes but it's not like chatman will have better timing with carson because he's been out just as long and caught a whole 1 pass from him last year.Hell at least perry caught 5 chatman is the only other proven productive NFL WR other than Chad and TJHe had 1 season he produced in 5 years,He was let go by a team that lacked WR's and speedy ones at that.
