EdwardG Posted April 25, 2004 Author Report Posted April 25, 2004 Andrews is the definition of a project, as he has only played football for three years. However, since our tackles are Willie Anderson and Levi Jones, we didn't need a starter. Andrews was a great pick for us, as he may be the best athlete we have on the offensive line, and he will have time to learn the position. Quote

I'm liking these "future" guys - it's taking the pressure off in the next few years. We've picked up what are essentially investments for the team. I'm sure we can (and will) plug some of the holes we may think we have for next season with pick-ups off of waivers, but the guys we're drafting this weekend will be (hopefully) the cornerstones of a team that will dominate the AFC. BengalszoneBilly Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Out of all the choices on Saturday, this is the only one that made sense to me. Carson will need protection, and Rudi will need someone to run behind. 340 lbs!! This kid will be pushing some people around! :player: Quote
EdwardG Posted April 25, 2004 Author Report Posted April 25, 2004 He is the brother of Shawn Andrews, who went in the first round. When they analyzed the two, the ESPN crew all agreed that Stacy was the better athlete of the two. He went to Ole Miss on a track scholarship, and started playing football in the last two years. He only played one year in high school, as a fullback. Hopefully Paul Alexander can mold this huy into a machine. I'm sure he's better than Scott Rehberg right now. Quote
HoosierCat Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 It will take two years to get this guy up to speed...after which we'll be set at RT for another decade.http://www.thehuddlereport.com/2004DRAFT/p...tacyAndrews.htmhttp://www.draftcrazy.com/prospect/t/stacyandrews.htmlhttp://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/stacy_andrews Quote
JPW Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 This guy has a TON of upside.Stacy AndrewsThe three 4th Round Picks have me feeling a whole lot better about this Draft. Quote
Chad Johnson Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 I ike adding depth at T more than anything I was so worried abut a injury on our O line. still am at G and C Quote
Bobcat Bengal Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 YEah, I had mentioned something about this dude before the draft....I think its a great pickup.... Quote
The Brew Man Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Agreed, great pick here, gotta love his size and overall atheletic ability. Quote
chrishcovga Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Yeah, I have to give it too the guys on the Stacy Andrews selection.. Great size, and feet. loved what Golic said about him not having the time to develop bad habits..- I would love to put him next to W. Anderson right away. His Value as a guard may be better than Bobbie Williams. - He definitely raises the Bengals overall draft grade. Quote
WHO DEY AGAIN? Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 Then why didn't he hardly ever play? This is the freaking NFL people. get real. Quote
EdwardG Posted April 26, 2004 Author Report Posted April 26, 2004 Then why didn't he hardly ever play?Because he came to school on a track scholarship and didn't start playing football until his junior year of college. Quote
jtsmith38 Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 The man squats 770 and presses 450, AND with some athletic ability. As long as he has half a brain, he should be a beast on the O-line in a couple years. (and for quite a few years after that) Quote
WHO DEY AGAIN? Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 And all this strength and power came after the season was over. You morons! This is a FA signing. Wake up! Quote
JPW Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 No way this guy falls to a FA sigining. This was a GREAT Pick in the 4th round. Quote
chrishcovga Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 And all this strength and power came after the season was over. You morons! This is a FA signing. Wake up! Stacy Andrews, 4.96 in the 40 yard dash at.......6'6 342 lbs..?? Are you crazy... !! He protected Eli Manning. He's already a natural Right Tackle. You don't have to tweak this guy, - He's already 'ready to play and start if you ask me. - Getting him in the 4th round could reap benefits for years.. No doubt he'll push either Willie Anderson to the guard spot or Bobbie Williams off the roster..! Quote
