HairOnFire
WOW!. That just totally redefined my definition of what a president and GM does. Here I was under the mistaken impression that it was their job to make a team a "playoff team year in and year out and get to the Super Bowl." But in reality, what they do is "keep their fingers crossed that it might happen I think Mike Brown could have been speaking to you directly when he said....."They attribute motives and thoughts to you that you never had." HairOnFire
We're not debating his competence. I'm simply remarking yet again on your longstanding habit of deliberately misrepresenting anything that Mike Brown says. Perhaps you should read the interview again, and then once more. After all, when it comes to Mike Brown quotes you normally need three attempts, and a little help from others, to comprehend what he's really saying. Last, I find it remarkable that the Bengalzone poster who has spent more time writing about injuries, and their potential impact, would complain when someone acknowledges that luck is a handy thing to have when trying to reach a goal. jjakq27
Per Hobson, both TJ and JJoe out of practice again today...http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=6251 If it's Chad-Tab-Holt we could be in for a looooong night...I might not even be able to watch that game if that is our top three receivers that night. Chad will have like two catches for 12 yards with those guys starting across from him. I wanted to fight my brother when he told me the best the Bengals will be this year is 8-8, I think I'm starting to lean toward his way with that prediction. The whole damn team is hurt including the coach, as the season gets closer to starting my hope is fading. I would have loved to shove pie in Peter King face, looks like he will look like a soothsayer after this year with the Bengals. The Bengals are easy pickins' this year if you want to skew things negatively. The way the season ended last year and injuries and suspensions this year have this team limping into game one a bit. So picking them to nosedive isn't exactly sticking your neck out. But, if they persevere and have a successful season then guys like Peter King still probably won't give them their due. Stripes
I'd be more concerned about JJoe missing the game that TJ. Without him, we'll be starting a rookie against Mark Clayton. Joseph dominated McNair in last season's second matchup too.TDB are you serious you would be more concerned about JJOE missing the game then TJ. Hall a rookie starting at cornerback is a lot better then Tab Perry and Glen Holt as our wide receivers. I didn't even mention Chad because he would be a non-factor with those guys starting, can you say triple coverage (linebacker) and take your chances with those guys beating one on one coverage. That would mean that if the wide receiver were not seen as a threat then Rudi would have absolutely zero lanes to run through. Clayton is only as good as McNair wore out arm, I don't fear Clayton at all I feel that Hall would do fine against him. But those backup receivers I'm not feeling at all. It's a tough call either way, but I still think the Bengals offense would be able to move the ball effectively without TJ. Palmer is throwing the passes after all.Hall is a talented player, but I expect Clayton to have a big year and I think he'd eat Hall up if they were to face one another in his first game. ArmyBengal
Any given "Monday", I'll take what we are given and hope for the best... It's over man.....admit it.....we're toast!!!Okay, since sarcasm doesn't always translate well into written form, I'm just saying that we should probably get a few weeks under our belt before we all become Pats fans. Maybe we'll get some positive karma at some point and have the reverse of last season where some guys actually get healthier so we can run through the second half well. I think if we can take care of business in the division we'll be in the mix at the end.

It's over man.....admit it.....we're toast!!!Listen BBTB, there's a huge difference between pressing the panic button, (which I quit pressing, and just super glued a brick to) and saying we're "toast". You can't deny there's room for improvement. Will it happen? Time will tell as usual. I'm hoping it will.
HairOnFire
A staggering shock to the system: Billy replaces avavtar of boobies being bounced and playfully squeezed over and over again on an endless animated video loop, with a static and grainy black and white photo of Gomers beloved Sgt. Carter. It's probably no coincidence that in my world this morning the air smelled a little less sweet, the colors a little less bright, and the songs being tweeted by nearby birds soundied a little less joyfull. I'm just saying....(voice trails off)
