BengalszoneBilly Posted September 4, 2007 Author Report Posted September 4, 2007 ...and lastly my personal favorites...The Galaxy SongYou'll probably find it weird that this particular song was covered by American Country Artist Clint Black, who recorded it as a duet with it's Monty Python writer Eric Idle! That being said...let's proceed with some more silliness: Quote

Scottishbengal Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 NONE SHALL PASS!People slightly older than myself (?) would much prefer The Goons as opposed to Python. Although a radio show originally The Goons' off the wall / abstract (peverse?) view of comedy laid the foundations for the likes of python to follow.I don't know/haven't heard much of the Goons, Python was good - sometimes great sometimes s**te, but I suppose that could be said for a lot of all the so called "great comedies" of an era = The Young Ones, Bottom, Blackadder (all the series), Red Dwarf, The Mighty Boosh. Maybe it's a cultural thing but i find US comedy is generally crap (with the eception of Police Squad, Sledgehammer and early Married With children) Quote

Of course I grew up on Benny Hill who I miss a lot. I too find American sitcoms not that funny except for That '70's Show, The Chapelle Show, The Family Guy, and South Park. Quote
