Ox Posted August 4, 2007 Report Share Posted August 4, 2007 Just got back from the hot and sweaty as hell inferno of a time we call the Mock Game in G-Town. Geez oh pete it was burning up. There were close to about 4000 people if not more at the game today. Aside from realizing how many trailer park hillbillies that I had to listen and see today, it was a good time. I didn't realize so that many people thought that it was ok to walk around shirtless and stinking, but oh well, comic relief.Anyways, Carson did not play today. That was a bummer, but we got to get a good look at a lot of the young guys. The Black won 33-17 over the white. Neither team had many starters on the field.First thing:-Ahmad Brooks is indeed a monster of a middle linebacker. He looked quick and was taking control of the defense. His size alone is quite imposing. I'd hate to be a lineman when that dude is blitzing.-Reggie McNeal needs to learn how to catch a f*cking ball. This guy is supposed to be our number 3? If so, I'm pretty worried. He couldn't catch anything it seemed.-It pisses me off that Chris Henry is on the sidelines for 8 weeks. He is head and shoulders better than everyone on the field other than TJ and Chad. The guy is a superstar. He looked effortless in hauling in balls. The dude made Doug Johnson look like Carson Palmer. He will be a game changer when he comes back. I really don't know how any of our other recievers are going to fill his slot.-Peko wan't paying attention and was late running on the field for a field goal try, and everyone turned around and was yelling his name to get out there. Kind of funny, but he needs to pay attention. That's the kind of thing that we can't have during a real game.-If Carson goes down, we're really fu*ked. Not that that is a news flash, but damn. Our back ups pretty much blow. DJ was intercepted like 3 times by a bunch of 3rd stringers. Worrisome.Lastly, don't try to take a makers mark bottle to get signed. The rent - o - cops gave me much crap about that, and the bottle was not opened and clearly the Bengals orange and black dipped bottle. I even went up to one and asked if I could take it to get it signed, and the douche tried to confiscate it. I finally told him , look, my car is right there, i'll put it up. I swear some of those guys have nothing better to do.Here's a few lousy pics I took from the stands. THey are pretty big, but are reduced on here for size purposes to fit. Ox Posted August 5, 2007 Author Report Share Posted August 5, 2007 Skyler got more action than any other receiver, playing for both the black and the white team at some point during the game. He looked good, but is rather small. He was Doug Johnson's main target when with the white team. As far as Madieu, he did play, but didn't do anything special. Oppressive heat, no hitting, just guys making sure they were generally in correct spots. That said, Ox is correct that McNeal didn't help himself.
