derekshank
I love how polarizing this is. Mocking, Belittling, Name calling, Threatening. Good times. If not, no big deal. Frankly it wouldn't surprise me either way. He's obviously been trying really hard to keep his nose clean, and I respect him for that... but you also can't rule anything out considering his past history. It seems funny to me to act so sure either way. None of us were there... so assuming that the charges are bulls**t is no more intelligent than assuming they're valid. Now how about PM'ing me to get my address, I'm still waiting for that Odell Thurman jersey. I hope its a large.I know I say some things that sound pretty crazy to most of you guys, but Shula[/b}, You are one ignorant sonbitch! Home boys? The PatternMaster
Let me guess Palmer was the white guy whaling on the kid. This sounds like it's a copycat of Thurman's case to try and get some money.Other than the fact that in the article a law enforcement official is quoted as seeing the injuries and commenting that "an assault definitely occurred."The 16 year old was said to be an acquaintance of Chris Henry's little brother. Maybe something happened between Henry's brother and the kid, and Henry took it upon his own "thug" self to stick up for his brother. The thing that scares me the most about this is, Henry and McNeal hanging out together. Two knuckleheads who have both been troubled by drug problems hanging out together. I just don't see any leopards changing their spots anytime soon.Haven't the events of the past month taught you anything, mainly to wait until the FACTS & the TRUTH come out before you go jumping to conclusions regarding allegations against high profile athletes in small towns. There is no proof other than some 16 year old who claimed a white guy hit him, how in the world that gets back to Henry and McNeal I don't know. Also if this can't tell you what kind of car it was that his alleged attacker pulled up in doesn't that make him less than credible, I guess he's waiting to see what kind of car Henry has before he says what kind of car it was. This s**t is getting old and if you think Henry would jeopardize his football career and the livelyhood of his entire family to beat up a 16 year old then...well I seriously doubt Henry had anything to do with this after reading the article and the "alleged" acccount of what happened.Police say the 16-year-old and an 18-year-old friend were walking along Wetherington Boulevard near Mt. Zion Road just after 11 p.m. Friday night when, they say a black Navigator or Escalade pulled up next to them. According to the police report, a white male jumped out and started punching the 16-year-old in the face. Last time I checked Henry and McNeal are black, so why are they being accused of assault."From that, the victim tells us another gentleman got out of the vehicle the same vehicle and in their attempt to get away, was shoved to the ground by this African American gentleman," said Cloyd. The teen identified that man as Bengals receiver Chris Henry, and says receiver Reggie McNeill was also in the vehicle. McNeal should counter-sue for slander, the local idiots are getting out of control. The teen also alleges that they were throwing beer bottles at him as he tried to run away. "Go away, we don't want to talk to you." 9News tried to talk to Chris Henry Tuesday night, but no one at his house wanted to talk to us. Henry lives just a few blocks away from where police say the assault happened. The victim's family tells 9News that the teen knows Henry and knows his vehicle because he lives in the neighborhood and was friends with Henry's younger brother. I seriously doubt Henry knows this kid, the kid "knows" Henry like we all know Henry, by seeing him on TV and maybe around town. Police questioned Henry Tuesday afternoon and are taking this allegation very seriously. Of they are, they would bust Henry for spitting on the sidewalk if they could, hell the county DA already showed his prejudice and contempt for Henry by calling him a "low-life". Come Friday another alleged assault accusation will be uncovered as nothing more than a poor attempt to extort money from a high profile athlete who has a history of trouble with the law, some people are so pathetic.Ok you just contradicted yourself in the same post.In the immortal words of a popular Guiness Stout commercial..."BRILLIANT!"Please tell me how I contradicted myself, incase your in doubt a Escalade and a Navigator aren't the same car. Once again I ask whatever happened to being innocent until proven guilty, I guess that only applies to non-Bengals.

Have you forgotten DD's recently posted message board rules already?I thought this forum and all blogging had certain rules:1) Always shoot the messenger2) If you have something nice to say, keep it to yourself.3) Historical facts are less valid than current innuendo, which is less important than one's opinion.4) Anybody who types in complete sentences, uses grammar and punctuation well, and uses words normally found in spelling bees is probably an English teacher, and totally unreliable.5) Revisionist history is encouraged.6) Anything expressed in a non-humorous way is fact.7) If you start the topic, it's your fault. 8) If you quote an internet site, you must include the link, and 50% of the people will think you are somehow responsible for the information. Now quit being reasonable! The PatternMaster
I think you speak for yourself. Until Henry is proved guilty or even arrested lets wait until you start issuing ultimatiums. Besides wtf are u talking about when you referencing his "home boys", sounds like you watched BET last night and learned some new slang. What "home boys" are you refering to, his little brother? So when Odell and Henry spend time with their family they're hanging with their "home boys"?I guess the main problem with the tri-state area is many people don't realize how ignorant and racist they really are. Here we have people convicting Henry based on sketchy allegations from a 16 year old who claims a WHITE GUY beat him up. Btw, how does this kid know what McNeal looks like well enough to point him out in car as he's getting his ass whipped? I bet you 100 dollars 99% of Bengals fans couldn't wouldn't recognize McNeal if he walked by them on the street. There are so many holes in this kids story come Friday this will be another example of idiots trying to take advantage of a situation.Pattern - I do not necessarily believe these specific allegations, but I've been following Henry's career both on and off the field with interest, and he does have a problem. It's been reported to me that Chris is actually a pretty cool guy, but has encountered much of his problems after he had 17 friends and family move in with him as refugees from Louisiana in October of '04. There's a great article that's been posted here this year (Jeff Chudhua?), that quotes well respected NFL players discussing this very issue. They state that it's VERY difficult for NFL players to turn their backs on their neighborhood friends, who have supported him during his entire career. It goes far as to say that their mindset isn't "He made it to the NFL", but "THEY (all) made it to the NFL". However, these friends often do not exhibit the necessary self-control now needed by an NFL player, and will invariably get their NFL buddy in some kind of trouble. These players suggest that, to survive, a young NFL player must cut the ties with these life-long friends (Obviously not an easy task). I'm passing it along, as someone as fed up with the bad press as everybody else. I'm afraid that if Chris can't control these guys, and can't cut the ties, off-field problems will continue to dog his careerI read the article and I'm well aware of what the author is talking about, but there's a difference between hanging out with an entourage of guys who around you for your money and status than hanging out with your little brother. You can't lump them together because it's not the same situation. As far as Henry's concerned, what did you expect him to do after Katrina hit, tell his family "ya'll can't stay with me even though your homeless and I just signed a million dollar contract". What type of a**h*** turns his back on his friends and family when they are in legitimate need and you have the means to help? Henry doesn't have cut ties with everyone he's ever known in life before he made it to the NFL to be successful, he just needs to make better decisions Until they have solid evidence that Henry was involved besides the word of 16 year old who claims to know Henry as well, this story is total bulls**t, just like Odell situation was total bulls**t.It's just mind blowing at how many people can't wait to say negative s**t about these guys before there are any arrest or convictions. At this stage it's just one person's word against anothers, call me crazy but I'm going to need more facts before I assume anyone is guilty and should be treated as such. I was just watching the ISS solar array retraction on NASA TV, and someone said Henry was wanted in connection to the damage to the thermal blanket covering the Shuttle's portside OMS. NASA engineers originally thought the tear happened at liftoff, but an anonymous source told NASA TV that shortly after the Shuttle got to orbit, a black Escalade pulled up next to it, and Chris Henry chucked a beer bottle at the Shuttle, which tore the blanket. Now, I think this story has all kinds of problems, like how does an Escalade get into space, but given Henry's history you can't completely rule it out... Contrary to popular belief around here, the truth & facts are needed in some cases before someone is proven guiltyof a crime.FLORENCE, Kentucky -- Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry was under suspicion of assault, Florence investigators said, but a source told News 5 on Wednesday that the claim is unfounded.Capt. Linny Cloyd said previously that a 16-year-old boy claim\ed the wide receiver was one of two men who jumped from an SUV Friday night and attacked him. The teen also claimed to have seen wide receiver Reggie McNeal inside the car.The teen filed a police report Friday night. According to the report, he and a friend were walking along the corner of Mount Zion Road and Wetherington Boulevard. A little after 11:00 p.m., an SUV pulled up next to them. A man got out of the car and began assaulting the victim. According to the report, when the two teens tried to run away, a second man got out of the car and pushed one of the boys to the ground. The next day, the alleged victim told police the second man was Chris Henry, said Cloyd. That's also when he told police he saw McNeal inside the car.But Wednesday morning, a source told News 5 that police have found that the teen's claims were unfounded.Sounds like Channel 5 needs to wait a while before they go to press with these types of stories, if they would have waited a few hours Henry's name wouldn't have been dragged through the mud again for no good reason. I'm not going to blame the media for coming out with a story. Chris Henry being accused of anything is a story, regardless of how unfounded it is. I don't think they were irresponsible, seeing as how they didn't report anything that was untrue. They merely reported that a 16 year-old was accusing Henry of assault. Frankly, if it has no foundation, it's another feather in Henry's cap - making him look sympathetic once again. Honestly, if I were in Henry's shoes, I'd want as many of these stories as possible. The more bogus stuff that gets reported, the less believable the next story seems. And seeing how Kenton County has basically admitted they are out to get him, these kinds of stories are exactly the type of ammunition a defense lawyer would love to have the next time Henry is accused of something. Suddenly, this big black car screeched to a halt right next to me. This guy jumps out of the car and starts hittin’ me. I didn’t know him, but he was a white guy, wearing number 11, and screaming “I’m tired of being a F&*%kin’ back up” He kept callin’ me Jeff Row-Row-Your-Boat.Then this other guy jumped out. It kinda looked like Chris Henry, but it was hard to tell ‘cause he was either well-hidden by the car or running really far away. All he kept yellin’ was “I’m open, I’m open”So the first guy grabbed my wallet, but he couldn’t throw it to Henry ‘cause he was too far away. I thought he was going to throw it to this Spanish guy named Ocha Cinco, but he was getting chased by a horse and wasn’t paying any attention. So he threw it to the last guy to get out of the car – they called him JJ. I’m sure it was Johnathon Joseph, ‘cause the wallet hit him right in the hands, and he dropped it.Anyway, after that they all got back in the car and drove off. Somehow, someone got beat up and decided to bring Henry's name into it for no reason? Uh, ok, whatever.Well, any ways, hope this goes away fast. I am all for just cutting Odell's sorry a$$ if he isn't going to shape up, but I think there's actually hope with Henry and he's a better talent. Yet this nonsense is just getting ridiculous. Kazkal
PFT says Henry is clear. HENRY DODGES ANOTHER BULLETA few weeks back, a prosecutor in Kenton County, Kentucky announced that Bengals receiver Chris Henry had failed a court-ordered drug test. The only catch? He hadn't.This time around, a 16-year-old boy claimed that Henry and teammate Reggie McNeal assaulted him on Friday night in Florence, Kentucky. It now appears that the claim is false.WLWT-TV, citing an unnamed source, says that the accusation is unfounded. So, unless the unnamed source is named Marvin Lewis, it looks like Henry won't be facing any further trouble. But these two situations highlight the trouble with players making themselves into targets.
